Janice (jamasc) | 59851 comments Awe! Your bear is so cute and cuddly! The bears I saw yesterday may have looked cuddly, but I wouldn't risk it. Whereas, you could survive a cuddle with yours. :)

That is absolutely stunning Susan!

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments Your baby shawl is beautiful, Susan. I have never tried anything so complex. Two grand babies this year - wonderful. Are they your first?

Peggy - your bear is adorable. You really have a knack for making such cute animals.

message 358: by Susan (new)

Susan Thanks to everyone for your compliments on my shawl. It is by far the hardest thing I've ever knitted. These are the first grandchildren, so exciting. First boy might be born on Mother's Day!

CFDeeDee Since I keep on reading other books while I'm still in the middle of another book I run out of bookmarks so fast !! A great idea my English teacher gave me one day "why don't you make a bookmark out of tea bags separator .." And that is exactly what I did :

https://www.goodreads.com/photo/user/...

The size is perfect for a bookmark .. And I might work on another one soon if I ran out of bookmarks again !!

It's a great idea!

message 368: by CFDeeDee (new)

CFDeeDee Thanks guys :D

message 369: by Tasha (new)

Tasha I've never heard of or seen a tea bag separator but what a cute idea!!

message 370: by Sandra, Moderator (new)

Sandra (sanlema) | 11257 comments Tasha, I think a tea bag separator is one of those rectangular cardboards that come in the tea boxes separating the bags in rows.

message 371: by Tasha (new)

Tasha oh, got it. thanks :)

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments Tasha wrote: "I've never heard of or seen a tea bag separator but what a cute idea!!"

I could not figure out what it was either, Tasha. I buy Stash tea, so - no seperator.

Thanks Sandra. You are a wealth of knowledge today. I was just on The Martian thread and watched your link to the author reading. I did not hang around for the whole thing, though. I will get back to it after I go do some laundry. :0)

message 373: by CFDeeDee (last edited May 17, 2015 12:44AM) (new)

CFDeeDee It is so common around here and it is exactly how Sandra explained it :D Thanks btw .. I've also made few bookmarks by crochet, but this was different ;)

message 374: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments I agree about the creativity, CFDeeDee. Well done!

I loose bookmarks constantly so for me, anything will suffice. :0)

message 375: by Tasha (last edited May 17, 2015 03:38AM) (new)

Tasha I lose them too. My daughter recently colored in some printable bookmarks and then we laminated them. They are really, really cute. I'm trying not to lose these. ;)

message 376: by Travis (new)

Travis (travistousant) | 6011 comments Toilet paper is the best bookmark. You tend to always have toilet paper and it could also be used to blow your nose or as toilet paper should the situation call for it. If you ever were out on a walk eith nothing but your book and nature called you'll be glad your options aren't limited to leaves or ripping pages from your book. Because you book mark with tp. Ok so this situation almost never arises but I was locked out of my house in high school once and best I could find was an phone book out at the burning pit, had not been torched yet. I would have killed for tp. In fact I believe I hid a roll outside sonewhere just so that situation never popped up again.

message 377: by Tasha (new)

Tasha haha, too funny! But there seems to be a lot of truth in what you say. ;p

message 378: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie I've used my plane ticket as a bookmark before :)

message 379: by Sandra, Moderator (new)

Sandra (sanlema) | 11257 comments Hilarious, Travis!

message 380: by Sandra, Moderator (new)

Sandra (sanlema) | 11257 comments The Twining green tea I usually buy has separators, so when I read CFDeeDee's post and saw the pic I thought "It's true, they come naturally bookmark shaped!". Great combination: a good book + a delicious tea + a beautiful bookmark made from a tea bad separator.

Steph, plane tickets are bookmark shaped too! ;) Actually, I found one marking a page in a library book once. I still remember the book was The Husband's Secret, and it was a US airways domestic flight. :) Too much stupidity. I need my breakfast now!

message 381: by CFDeeDee (new)

CFDeeDee Same thing here Cherie I have no idea where do they disappear !! How strange !!

That sounds so cute Tasha .. Share a picture of it I would love to see that <3

@Traves: Hilarious LoooL

Stephanie that sounds great, I used to use cinema tickets, but a plain ticket sounds better !! It gives me of few ideas for a new bookmark :D

Yes, Sandra they do come in perfect shape .. You just need to add your touch ;) give it a try and show us what you end up with :D

message 382: by Tasha (new)

Tasha I'll try adding a pic but I can usually never firgure out how to post them on a thread...I'll try though.

message 383: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie Do you have photobucket Tasha? That is what I use when I add photos :)

You just copy and paste the html link of the photo.

message 384: by Tasha (new)

Tasha I forgot about that. I did at one time so I'll have to go over now and see if I can get it going again. thanks!

message 385: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie Yay!!
It was giving me a little trouble this morning but hopefully the bugs are fixed :-)

message 386: by Tasha (new)

Tasha Ok, I'm back in on photobucket. I found a few pictures of things I made way back in 2007/2008 so to test it out here I'm going to post a top I crocheted for my daughter who was almost 2 then (I think). I don't crochet anymore (no time) but I enjoyed it alot back then.

message 392: by Tasha (new)

Tasha thanks guys :)

message 393: by Rusalka, Moderator (new)

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19202 comments I just asked Lexx if he has a secret family and tractors somewhere so he could talk with such conviction about them. He is pissing himself laughing about now.

I feel like I am being trolled in an epic way.

message 394: by Travis (new)

Travis (travistousant) | 6011 comments Pretty sure it would be near impossible to be around goodreads and never let any Aussie-isms slip out if that were the case.

message 395: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59851 comments I've used toilet paper as bookmarks before. I've also used envelopes, scraps of paper, promo cards from magazines, and anything I can find that would fit the bill. Right now I'm using an actual bookmark. It was provided by the library with the return date stamped on it.

message 399: by Tasha (new)

Tasha thanks Peggy. :)

message 400: by CFDeeDee (new)

CFDeeDee Hahahaha Rusalka if he told you it won't be a secret no more :P see my point here !!

It is a great group Sandra .. Who doesn't like bookmarks ?!! ^.^"

I just had 2 bullets today, one is a 9mm and one is a bit longer about 1 inch long .. Planing on turning one of them into a bookmark :D but I'm afraid that if I took it on public it'll be taken away by the police or securities !!
