9:49AM. Got a late start here today. Just read the Amazon/GR thing. It sounds like this is something they really wanted. I though like Amazon ALOT! So I see it as a positive thing. I guess we wait and see what happens.

It's 10:53 a.m. and I have to work on Good Friday *sigh*. It's OK, I don't really mind that much, but I do want to get started on Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Also, would like to finish Before I Fall today. We'll see.

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 1:34 p.m. EST Oh, I'm so TIRED today... I should see if it's warm enough to sit outside for awhile, but need to put the dog out soon and then wake up hubby. Just up from a nap myself, although it was interrupted and too short...

message 2957: by [deleted user] (new)

It's 1:37 p.m. and I'm off to work now. Should be a slow day. Many people are off today for the holiday. It's FRIDAY! Yea!

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 10:18 PM EST Just up from a nap. Very close to finished downloading all the music I had accumulated over the past year! I have three Dropkick Murphys' albums and then Black Sabbath. Wow. At this point (before those final few) I have 95.4GB of music... So it looks like I'll have room on the device to add in a movie or two. I'll probably put on Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny 'cause i just love that movie! LOL Okay, I also have a book to finish before tomorrow night... ACK! off I go!

Jordan (jords) | 277 comments 9:57am just put hair dye on an waiting for it to develop to wash it off. Spent nearly £15 on two of them to get home and realize it's semi-permanent -_-!!

meh, when I've washed this off I'll probably go to the RSPCA and cheer me up with animals. Then I'll read :)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Oh, Jordan, what colour? I used to frequently colour my hair, but haven't for a long time. I think the last time was when I bleached it in... umm, 2007 I think. It was about an inch long at the time, but I haven't cut it since (just a couple trims) so now it's to my waist. I can't imagine how much dye I would need to do the trick now! LOL

8:08 a.m. EST GAH, I really need to go to bed... LOL Just finished the book for the final blog tour book tomorrow and set up the post. Once it's live, I'll post the review elsewhere. I have the 3rd Lovecraft Middle School book, so that'll be next up! But if I start that now, I will just stay up, so I'll likely be sleeping soon. I hope.

3:12 p.m. EST Woke up, read a book, posted a review... now I'll start another book, since I have time. It's a lovely day, so I'll probably go sit outside for awhile longer once hubby is off to work; I already spent about a half hour outside earlier.

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments 10:54PM and I'm enjoying one of the many fun parts of being a parent. My wife and I are filling my son's Easter Basket and hiding plastic eggs all over the place for him to find tomorrow. I love playing Santa and the Easter bunny. Next going to eat/naw on the carrot sticks he left out for the Easter bunny and off to bed.

Might start a new book tonight, or I just might take another night off. For those who take part in Easter, Happy Easter. For everyone else happy Sunday.

I can understand that. The first book in this one was really exceptional, so I'm hoping it continues! We'll see :-) Writing a standalone novel seems to be out of favor these days.

10:01AM Spending a beautiful morning with my hub. Will be leaving in a couple hours to head to Amy's for dinner. We have always done non traditional dinners on Easter. This year we are doing Meatloaf. YUM! I hope and pray for all of my GR friends to have a very Blessed Easter Holiday!

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 9:13 p.m. EST Just hopped on-line to do some research about this drug being talked about in this book, and that is some truly disturbing stuff... *shudder* It's desomorphine, a synthetic drug created from things like gasoline, lighter fluid, industrial cleaner, iodine, and lots of codeine. It literally addicts you instantly, and causes your flesh to rot off the bones, killing you from the inside out. If you want to see some really disturbing images, do a Google image search for "krokodil" or "desomorphine," but I'll warn you... things like exposed bones are likely to cause serious distress and result in the need for brain bleach *shudders* That fact that people are so desperate for any sort of escape that they would do this sort of thing to themselves just freaks me out, and even worse are the people who make and sell this stuff, knowing what it will do to people, and not even caring! OMG! Nasty.

On the plus side, I also looked up what a Duetto looks like (an Italian classic car), and those are some nice machines...

Well, need to go back and finish this book, now that I've done my research!

Krokodil is a great example of what the war on drugs has done for the world.

message 2993: by [deleted user] (new)

THAT's some spooky sh.t for real!

message 2994: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments No doubt, Chuck. As one of the characters said, making illegal drugs more expensive has only made more desperate addicts. It's an unfortunate fact that things like opium are much less harmful than this synthetic stuff that is mixed with paint thinner and household cleansers. I was asking my husband what sort of brain-dead maniacs would even come up with that sort of thing, you know? GAH!

12:47 a.m. Just finished that book. I start an editing project today so I'll probably try to sleep a bit soon. If I even can with those messed-up images going through me head! Yuck.

message 2995: by GeneralTHC (new)

GeneralTHC I think unless you've been in hardcore withdrawal it's very hard to understand how someone could resort to that.

message 2996: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Chuck wrote: "I think unless you've been in hardcore withdrawal it's very hard to understand how someone could resort to that."

Oh, I can relate. Due to my chronic pain I'm on morphine, and I've brushed the edge of withdrawal a couple times when I've overslept. I definitely would NOT want to go through it, that's for sure. But this krokodil stuff... seriously, what sort of inducement would anyone have to try it if they had any notion of what happened? I had never heard of this thing, and I'm sure there are many others who haven't. I think the best way to scare people away from it would just be to show those pictures of people with the bones of their arms and legs exposed where their skin has rotted off...

1:43 a.m. EST Okay, it's time for me to take a nap. I'll pop in a time or two tomorrow, but once I've cleared out the initial burst of e-mail, tomorrow is for editing.

message 2997: by [deleted user] (new)

5:13am. Been off GR for a few days, head just not right. I also have pain issues, only rarely have to turn to morphine. I have gone through withdrawal, though, many years ago, and it's not pretty. Reading 3 good books, all vying for my attention. Today is Opening Day for the Reds which is a major holiday in the city. Big parade, lots of people take off work, great feeling in the city. Glad baseball season is finally here. GO REDS!!!

I totally thought I had refills on my inhaler but I don't and I"m completely OUT and I don't know if my doctor's office will even be OPEN today and they require 24 hours to refill a prescription... GAH! Bad. My lungs have been clogged up with this humid weather and I don't know if I can go a day without my inhaler... This sucks. So, better to sleep if I can...
