Tim | 8539 comments Got all the US tax withholding stuff sorted out and sent off this afternoon. That's one less thing to worry about! :)

Tim | 8539 comments I've already sold one on Barnes & Noble, and I haven't told anybody it's there yet!!! YAY!

Still only one sale on .com though.

D.D. Chant (DDChant) | 7663 comments Yay!!!

message 554: by David (new)

David Staniforth (davidstaniforth) | 7935 comments Well done Tim. I've only sold five on .com over five months

message 555: by Kath (new) - rated it 5 stars

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments We might have waited for it for (nearly) ever but it was worth it.

http://ignitebooks.blogspot.co.uk/201...

I really got into this and got rather cross and angry at certain injustices - always a sign I'm 'in the zone' - great story Tim. Here's to the next!

message 556: by Tim (new) - added it

Tim | 8539 comments Thanks Ignite, that's brilliant. :-D

Oh dear, there are more injustices to come, I'm afraid...

I'm tempted to give "Princess J" her own (non-YA) series. She's a different person to different people, and that's an interesting dynamic that I think I'd like to explore. :)

message 557: by Kath (new) - rated it 5 stars

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments I think she's a fabulous creation. Flick's the girl we'd all like to think we were (if we were still 16 - try these for sighs!) but Jessica is the girl we'd really aspire to be in our dreams. I think.

message 558: by Tim (new) - added it

Tim | 8539 comments Even though Flick is the heroine, I think Jess is my favourite character to write. She's like, "If you were Judge Dredd and you had a secret identity, what would it be...?"

message 559: by Kath (new) - rated it 5 stars

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments She's wonderful. If you do a J series - I'm in there! I'll read them.

message 560: by Tim (new) - added it

Tim | 8539 comments I wrote an interesting "father-daughter" scene for book 2. Let's just say she's not everybody's darling. ;)

message 561: by David (new)

David Staniforth (davidstaniforth) | 7935 comments Nice review from Ignite there Tim, well done.

message 562: by Tim (new) - added it

Tim | 8539 comments Chuffed, definitely. :)

Oh, and it's now showing up on Kobo too (yay!)

message 563: by Elle (new)

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments it is all shiny and gold now

Lol!

How is Corporal C. these days??? ;-P

Tim | 8539 comments Still in Oxford, but I have a feeling she may be getting out and about a bit soon, once she gets a certain young lady out of the drunk tank...

D.D. Chant (DDChant) | 7663 comments Tim wrote: "Still in Oxford, but I have a feeling she may be getting out and about a bit soon, once she gets a certain young lady out of the drunk tank..."

Ooo!!! Exciting!!!

message 570: by Tim (new) - added it

Tim | 8539 comments Just got the paperback sorted and uploaded to FeedARead (what a load of faffing that was! In the end I had to make my own pdf because their Word doc conversion kept losing fonts and making silly substitutions (it's only Garamond ffs! not exactly an uncommon font!). And literally all I had to do was go into Word and Save As PDF!

Then the cover! An awful lot of chopping and splicing and mucking around to get something that was not quite as good as the original I had in photoshop, and functionally the same as if I'd just done a "save as PDF". Ho hum! Well, a two week wait now to see what it looks like...

message 571: by Kath (new) - rated it 5 stars

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Exciting eh? There's something about a paper book that even a keen kindle reader can appreciate!

message 572: by Tim (new) - added it

Tim | 8539 comments Not to mention the stack of "I'll wait for the paperback" emails that I've had :) (of course the cynic in me says that some of them are just excuses not to buy...)

Fixed a few more typos too (where do they keep coming from?)

353 pages, the print edition. :)

message 573: by Kath (new) - rated it 5 stars

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments They breed!

message 574: by Tim (new) - added it

Tim | 8539 comments I'm trying a little experiment to see if I can make 'book extras' and possibly even X-ray appear for Wanted. The little information I've managed to glean suggests that this info comes from Shelfari. So I've set up an entry for the book, and populated it with some interesting tit-bits.

http://www.shelfari.com/books/3622507...

There's some suggestion that the book needs to be "popular" too (whatever that means), so please, if any of you are Shelfari members, add the book to your shelf, and let's see if we can make this happen. :)

message 575: by Kath (new) - rated it 5 stars

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Dunno what Shelfari is - and the page didn't explain. You have to join? Why? What can you do with it?

message 576: by Tim (last edited May 27, 2013 01:31PM) (new) - added it

Tim | 8539 comments I have no idea...

Shelfari is an Amazon property, like Goodreads (is). So you should be able to log in with your amazon account. They're kinda similar in a lot of ways,at least from the little I've seen. All I really know is that shelfari data seemingly drives the "book extras" and "X-Ray" bits of a kindle.

message 577: by Kath (new) - rated it 5 stars

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments I don't know what that means either! You have no idea how thick I am about stuff like this!

message 578: by Tim (new) - added it

Tim | 8539 comments I've only just noticed the book's been out a week! Blimey doesn't time fly!!!

message 579: by David (new)

David Staniforth (davidstaniforth) | 7935 comments I know what you mean Tim. I'm going on for six months from launch of first book. I think publishing pushes you into an alternative time frame.

message 580: by Tim (new) - added it

Tim | 8539 comments Good news! Not only am I Indy Book Bargains Author of the Day YAY! (how did that happen?) but I've had news from FeedARead that the paperback is ready for proofing. So that's on order and hopefully will be with me in a few days. :)

Oh, and Please Like my Facebook Page! I can't be having with being outdone by DM... Even if he has been at it longer than me ;) https://www.facebook.com/TimArnotAuthor

I think I already have ;)

message 582: by Andrew (new)

Andrew Barrett | 1537 comments Congrats, Tim on Author of the Day.

Good to see you're moving quickly with the paperback too :)

message 583: by Tim (new) - added it

Tim | 8539 comments There's quite a bit of demand for the pb version from self-confessed followers of Ned Ludd...

I may have moved a little too quickly though, as I've just issued a batch of typo fixes to the Kindle edition (including a misspelling of Bodleian, which was even missed by one of my betas who works there!). Have to decide whether to blow £30 on a reprint...

message 584: by D.D. Chant (new)

D.D. Chant (DDChant) | 7663 comments I don't like you very much at the moment, Tim!!!

How did you get so many facebook likes???

I'm stuck on 9!!!

I'll check that I've liked yours DD. (if I can find it)

message 587: by Tim (new) - added it

Tim | 8539 comments That's interesting, I liked your page as my page (as opposed to "me"), and it didn't change the number of likes. Maybe it doesn't count pages separately...

What I really hate about fb like buttons on blogs etc is if I want to share the link to my page I can't. It'll only post to my wall. So if I want something to go on my author page I have to faff about copying the link then logging into fb, switch to my author ID and then post it. Grrr.

That irritates me too! And that not everyone has a google+ button...

I registered as myself.

and I even had a mini conversation with him.

I know when I'm not wanted. :( :(
