Well it was really very good, but I view several of his books as 'masterpiece' material. Hard to claim that for just one book.

Yeah, that is true. I just wanted your opinion, because I have heard it called that on many occasions. And in order to determine if I think it's his masterpiece, I would have to read all his work.

And now it's time for lunch!

I'm enjoying it very much, Kyle. We live in Washington state. Thank you for asking.

And I've never been anywhere near Boston, though I would like to, one day.

message 466: by Alondra (new)

Alondra Miller 8:56pm ET. About to eat lots of cookies and milk, while reading.

@Kyle; If you go to TX, you must visit San Antonio and The RiverWalk. It is wonderful. Sea World is there as well. Austin is very pretty and they have this one strip down there that have wall to wall clubs and bars. Back when I was a young soldier, we partied like no ones business. :)

Germany is absolutely beautiful and CLEAN. France is the same, but the people are rather snooty.

I think we should take a group tour and visit Stephen King in Maine; who's with me!!??

message 467: by Robin (new)

Robin (robinlayne) | 72 comments Oh, yes, let's crash Stephen King's party! (Does he have parties?)

Hi, I live in Oregon. Portland area. What part of Washington do you live in, Dustin? It's 10:18 p.m., and my butt is sore from sitting at the computer too long. Been working nearly all day on my story, and it's almost done. I figured out the missing settings. Now I just have to decide which parts to keep out of my long version of the story, as opposed to the short version. Both versions are within the required word count, so I would be fine if I used all the long version. Just depends on what works best now. Have sent copies to some people and am waiting for suggestions. Need to post a new version on the Silver Pen website, too. I'm tired. And I have been reading--not whole books or clear through from beginning to end, but research for my story. All American history, about the Revolutionary War, and a lot about Benedict Arnold. Certainly a very interesting person to read about. And a great person to write fiction about--especially when you throw in a devious vampire!

Alondra Miller 8:36pm ET. Chilling, listening to raunchy music, eating my brownie and chilling some more... :D

message 470: by Robin (new)

Robin (robinlayne) | 72 comments It's 9:47 p.m., and I'm glowing over finishing my horror story . . . but I'm going to read it over one more time to see if there is anything more I can do to improve it. I am happy at the way it turned out, and so are the people who have been helping me out on SilverPen.org. Tomorrow afternoon's the deadline, and if this publisher doesn't accept it, there are two more waiting to consider it. I have never been so popular!
Have been chillin' on Facebook, talking to friends who showed up there, and eating mushrooms and cucumbers in blue cheese dip.
Tomorrow I'll get back to my homework. Must finish the final by Wednesday night.

Robin (robinlayne) | 72 comments It's 10:36 a.m., and I am SUPPOSED to be in a Skype writer's meeting, but no one else has showed. I am worried about the one person who is unaccounted for, who said he would be in the meeting today. I can't get ahold of him, period. In other news, I got out my Christmas decorations, and I'm looking for a notebook with some writing in it that I want to type up. Can't imagine where it's got to, and I really could use this piece for our performance that will be done in March. How frustrating!

Robin (robinlayne) | 72 comments It's 5:59 p.m., and I'm trying to think what to do with myself. I'm too tired for homework or writing or reading. Maybe I can type up another longhand story or two. It's too early to go to sleep. Christmas music on my Christian radio station is playing in the other room. Earlier, I typed up "The Genesis of a Writer" and posted it on my blog here and on one other blog. In case you want to know how I became a writer, you can read it.

Just the radio, but they play great music on Saturday night. Cheap Trick, Queen, Beatles, Stones, Aerosmith ..... Lots of good sing-alongs. LOL

message 497: by Robin (new)

Robin (robinlayne) | 72 comments It's 6:09 p.m., and I am doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Still recuperating from that marathon writing spree (similar to a NanoWriMo, but with researching and editing galore and with a smaller word count in the end). I'm tired but not tired enough to nap, and waiting again for friends to be available for the writers' salon Skype meeting that never really happened yesterday. I looked on my blog and discovered I forgot to post the latest installment of my story last Monday. So I just posted it now. I have 3 more weekly installments to do. If you haven't checked it out, I hope you do, because I think you'll really like it. The tale takes place in a church, but it is NOT a typical church story. It's called "Manuel Pascal."
