Trying to find a Copy?
Sentimental Surrealist wrote: "Also, wasn't it printed by Dalkey at one point? what happened to that?"What I'm seeing is a general change of policy ; the kind of change in policy which shrinks their long=term warehousing of unpopular books.
But, yep, Dzanc should have a few more McElroy's in the pipeline (Lookout Cartridge, probably next?) ; but I'm not quite sure that they'll do all of them. But they did get Plus into an ebook. Which is a plus.
Three copies of Plus (hd, former library) going at amazon for US$9.67+shipping.http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listin...
One cross=listed at abe ::

nb, these are usually in the $50 range.

Yeah, they released a paperback, you see it around, it's rare though

They've released Lookout Cartridge as an ebook, would love to see some print versions, can't mark or make notes in my hardbacks.
Seiobo wrote: "They've released Lookout Cartridge as an ebook"Right-o! I spoke too quickly!

Just a friendly reminder to always check your local used bookstores, even if you frequent them often! I went to my local Half-Price Books which usually doesn't have anything besides Stephen King and Twilight and I found W&M, first edition, in very good condition for $8. Those employees didn't know what they had. So always keep your eyes peeled!

Dzanc doesn't really give us a lot of advanced notice, so one day we'll wake up and have to dive for that ORDER NOW!! button.
It's not Women and Men, but there's a copy of Plus on ebay right now for $17.60. Someone go buy it! I would, but I already have a copy. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Plus-McElroy-...
how about Barth's copy, signed by him? http://www.johansonrarebooks.com/page...and his W&M http://www.johansonrarebooks.com/page...
Justin wrote: "It's not Women and Men, but there's a copy of Plus on ebay right now for $17.60. Someone go buy it! Dzanc now has an ebook out, so pb prices (hd still $$$) seem to have finally dropped. amazon now has a few listed at reasonable rates (should you, like me, need paper books) :

Just ordered the hardcover for $10 on amazon. Looks like the seller has a couple more. Hoping it's in good condition like it says in the description.

Looks like the seller noticed and upped their price. I think I had put another copy in my cart, and upon looking at my cart it says the price has changed from 9.98 to 105.86.

One of these days Dzanc will come through. One of the comments on Amazon said that McElroy pulled the rights from Dalkey Archive, because a different publisher was going to publish it. Not sure if that was for Dzanc or Overlook though. Hard to say how long the comment has been on their site.
Just posted this in the Brag pics thread. Hope it's okay to cross post, but just wanted to mention that I somehow nagged a copy for $13.99 shipped Sunday night! Really nice condition!https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
Alex wrote: "Hoping mine comes today. I got the same deal."Was that the one they upped the price on?
Yeah same one I believe. They must have had 3 or 4 at least. I got mine in the mail today. Nearly perfect condition. Has some sticker residue on the front right corner, and I think some fading on the bottom of cover. Otherwise pretty much perfect.
Alex wrote: "Four years of searching has come to an end."Congrats. Hope you enjoy the reading journey now.
Alex wrote: "Four years of searching has come to an end."Congrats! It's a great feeling to hold a physical copy in your hands.
Some kind of an update. For those that are too lazy to click: 3rd edition new cover and the best edition ever for accuracy is almost ready. Taken from McElroy's twitter.
please say someone knows when its dropping into stores i have been waiting since may for the new copy and nothing has happened.

Without a date I wouldn't say. But last I heard, sometime in '17?
Don't get your hopes up, but relatively speaking, this is the first copy I've seen recently under a hundred bucks. US$78 ::" Used - Acceptable
Many corner dings. The cover has visible markings and wear. The cover has a badly warped spine! The dust jacket is missing. Pages have age spots and/or yellow discoloration/stains."

At least it would sound as though someone might have actually read this copy.
There's actually an interesting copy on Abebooks right now at a bargain price, if you don't mind spending $100. It's John Barth's copy of the two volume uncorrected proof, signed by Barth. I'm saying this is a bargain because there is another unsigned proof on Abebooks for $250.http://www.abebooks.com/servlet/BookD...
Yeah that copy has been up for sale for around 6 months now. I've certainly thought about making an offer, but there've been too many other books that've caught my eye instead.

That bookseller has been selling quite a lot from Barth's library, all Barth=signed ; a couple of folks around these here parts even picked up a few.

From fan standpoint, not so much.
