Has anyone tried one of those book printing services where they make a book on the spot or within a few hours. I’ve been thinking about doing that for this title.

How much are you asking ?

I was dubious until I checked on Amazon. A like very good copy range from over $300 to over $800. I purchased mine for $25 years ago and it now has McElroy’s signature. Not selling it, though!

There's been a perfect copy for $70, sitting on ebay for a few months now.
$200 isn't even in the right universe. If that Strand is crazy enough to offer that, he better run and take that now before they change their minds. NO ONE will pay that money.
Here is the price range for a hardback on Amazon. I wonder how much one with Joe’s signature would fetch? I’ll even throw in a picture of me and Joe. Kidding!https://smile.amazon.com/gp/aw/ol/039...
Aloha wrote: "The one on eBay is a paperback, though."The current one is, yes. The one I'm referring to just ended.
Here are two that just sold... the first of which was up for a very long time.

Regardless, gone are the days when you could easily buy Joe's books for next to nothing.
I have decided to throw am offer of $150.00. My original buyer is not connecting in time and I am trying to move the book asap. Mint dust jacket, mint interior, Knopf first edition never read. Anyone interested in my suggested price or photographic proof please feel free to message me.
Wow, I found a mint first for $7 in a bookstore and gave it to a friend for free. I feel bad for people shelling out $150.
Also, maybe I'm just cheap, but if I didn't have a copy I would try to get it from my library (interlibrary loan if needed) and just wait until the Dzanc edition comes out. someday it will and this crazy demand will cease. I love the book but it's definitely not worth $150.
Not worth $150.00 in your opinion, worth much more in concrete fact. Yes, you are just cheap. Less commentary and more bids, if anything, thank you!
Thought you wanted it to go to someone who valued the book as a book, as a lover of McElroy? if you want the big money just put it on ebay and wait around like everyone else.
Serious thanks, J., for making your copy of W&M available first here. We've been working for several years now to get copies into the hands of readers. Not all of us are book collectors. What you are asking for your copy is certainly within reason, but is not what many of us are able to afford. It's been frustrating for many of us not being able to get a copy within our own particular budgets. I hope you do find a buyer and I hope even someone here might take you up on it. But on the other hand, please do understand, we've been watching for prices to drop below US$80 bucks for several years now. Many of us who have been willing to shell out a little more perhaps have done so already. Again, I'm really happy you found this group and are willing to give us first dibs.
Thank you for explaining that, N.R. I really do not know much about McElroy nor even this site but I just wanted to dodge being lambasted for my price, as I saw the exact edition/condition going for 300/400 elsewhere.Perhaps I can make it available for 80 or so here. I'll have to double check what shipping in the U.S. and international is like for this behemoth.
Amazon prices don't always reflect what people are actually paying for the item. http://www.cnn.com/2011/TECH/web/04/2...
Amazon is but one means of selling books, and as I am sure thou know your source is arguably the absolute worst one you could have chosen. I get it, you read CNN, buy books from Amazon, and can't afford the book I'm selling. You are doing nothing but wasting space for others who may inquire as per the tome at a discounted price.
Moderator speaking=hat ::I would politely request that this exchange end now. Please. Thank you.
Please use gr's private message function for any further communication about this offer.
The man is just posting an offer since this thread is about finding a copy. No need to insult him. If you don’t want to buy, then don’t. It’s pricy compared to a few years ago but not unreasonable considering other offers on the market. But Nathan is right it’s about time to make it private.
I have a former library copy I would like to sell of the Knopf hardcover edition. It has become obvious to me I won't be getting around to reading it any time soon, so I'd like to pass it on to someone else. $20 plus shipping, if anyone is interested. Payment through PayPal goods and services.
Hi, David! *waves*...the only person here I’ve met in person (except for McElroy). That offer will be taken up quickly!
Came here to deliver the info NR already mentioned: “the new 3rd edition -- the most nearly perfect text so far if that's a consolation -- coming for sure Spring 2018.”^ from Joe on Twitter in response to me asking him about W&M.

Thank you to David Merrill and the secret angel in this group who paid him for this book. Also thanks to my and Cody's pals at Book Row in Brooklyn for the de-stickering/mylar job. I am looking forward to the new year to kick this one off!

Someone asked about shipping to Canada. If you live outside the U.S., we can ship the book to you, with an extra shipping cost - feel free to shoot me an email at michelle@dzancbooks.org, and we'll get it set up.
Dale wrote: "Apparently it only ships to the US? Please show us Canadians some love at least!"Sorry, I meant to reply to you directly. We can get you a book - email me at michelle@dzancbooks.org and we'll get it figured out.
We have liftoff! This is a nice bit of Christmas news. Will there be an opportunity to get a signed edition?
James wrote: "We have liftoff! This is a nice bit of Christmas news. Will there be an opportunity to get a signed edition?"I don't see why not, though I haven't set anything up with Joe yet. I'll keep you posted.
Griffin wrote: "Hey Michelle, any specifics on the binding of this thing?"So far, just that it's paperback...the length will probably determine a lot of the options on this one.
Will there be an option to have the softcover rebound by the supplier since I’ve never had good luck with paperback tomes? Otherwise, I could have done on my own post-purchase.
Derek wrote: "Will there be an option to have the softcover rebound by the supplier since I’ve never had good luck with paperback tomes? Otherwise, I could have done on my own post-purchase."Rebinding by the supplier is a bit too expensive for us to offer, but I'm impressed that you can do that!
