Jenne (jennetheinstigator) Famous Landmark Week:
I read Seduced in the Dark (The Dark Duet, #2) by C.J. Roberts
Finished 9/15/12 Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥

Here's my review:
AMAZING! I wish I could give it 10 stars. Ms. Roberts is a mastermind. This was such an emotional story. What should be a horrible thing isn't. This series is like the car wreck you know you shouldn't look at but can't help but do so. The insight we get into Caleb's history was insane. This was filled with all sorts of twists and turns. This one picks up where Captive in the Dark ended except Livie is in the hospital with the F.B.I. (this confused me at first but it's her telling her story to Agent Reed so it flashes back to the past then current) Caleb & Livie arrive at Felipe's home in Mexico to prepare her for the auction. Felipe & his slave Celia aren't so bad in fact they end up being quite helpful to Caleb & Livie. The anguish in this story is almost unbearable. Caleb can't come to terms with the way he feels about Livie. One moment he's so tender then the next so harsh. My mind is still spinning over this book and I finished it two days ago. I know the content of this book scares a lot of people off but if you like a serious emotional book and one that screws with you head then try them. I'm sad it's only two books I wish there was more to look forward too.

Adele Symonds (adelesymonds) Week 3 Famous Landmark

I read The Memory Keeper's Daughter by Kim Edwards

Finished 17 Sep - 5 stars

Mini review

This was a gripping fiction story, that so easily could have been true. Twins are born to a doctor and his wife in 1962 but the daughter is born with Downs Syndrome, her father can't bear the thought of losing her while still a child as he lost his sister to heart failure when she was only 12 so he asks his nurse to take her away and put her in an institution and he tells his wife the baby died.

Caroline the nurse cannot leave the baby in the barbaric institution so she raises her as her own and David - the girls real father never tells his family that she is still alive.

This is told from 2 POW and is emotionally charged throughout, very well written and definitely worth a read.

Definite 5 stars.

╰⊱♥⊱╮ღ꧁Kathy,Ahmazing Book Faerie꧂ღ╭⊱♥≺ (mamabear7080) OK! Finally finished!
Famous Landmark week
I read When Pigs Fly by Bob Sanchez
Three description
Review This is a funny story about Mack Durgan and his (ex) best friend's ashes, and the dramas that surround Mack as he tries to find the perfect place to lay his friend to rest.
Unknown to Mack, also in with his friends ashes is a winning lottery ticket stolen by one of the many criminal types chasing Mack around the country.
I found it a bit hard to follow, as there are a lot of characters, and almost every chapter, is from a different persons point of view, including some from a pig named Poindexter!!
It was good story, but I just had trouble getting into it.

It was great book for scavenger hunters!!
I found
Places:Famous Landmark
The Grand Canyon Page 207 "The Grand Canyon would add at least a couple of hours to the trip each way,"
People: Warrior Page 79 like a fighter getting up from the canvas,
Things: WheelPage119 “Crappy piece of junk,” he said. “An oven on wheels. You’d think they’d spend some money on upkeep.”
Colour: OrangePage105 "Two guys wearing orange robes had gotten on the bus in East Hotplate or some such, their heads shaved except for skinny pigtails."

If My choice for Warrior isnt acceptable, I will claim
People: Child Page 134 "eggs and blueberry pancakes pureed together in a blender for the goddamn Gerber baby."

╰⊱♥⊱╮ღ꧁Kathy,Ahmazing Book Faerie꧂ღ╭⊱♥≺ (mamabear7080) Phew!! Now I can start reading a good book!! I marked "Eve Of Samhain" as reading, but never got past the first chapter because I was struggling so much with "When Pigs Fly" I might leave it now, for next weeks challenge!

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) Shoreline Week:
I read Lying in Wait
Finished it 9/24/12
♥♥

Here's my review:

 2.50
This is a story about several different people in Ireland and England. Mal leaves his family's farm to go to Dublin for work. He gets mixed up with a crew of criminals that have ties to the IRA. Things go south fast and he leaves town with a suitcase full of their money. Tom is a bachelor living on his dairy farm with his widowed sister. Her daughter Jess is moving to london for school. Tom has an affair with his caretakers wife while engaged to her sister. Mal meets Jess while living in London on the run from the gangsters. Where they begin to fall in love. The gangsters hes hiding from track him and hurt the innocent friends of Mals who have no idea of his past. It takes a minute for all of these people to tie in together. This book is suppose to be a thriller but I really felt it was more drama than thriller until the end. I believe I would of enjoyed this more as a movie than a book.

Shoreline: Kindle Location, 5249
he reached the wet sand of the shoreline
Single Male: Kindle Location, 4566
it'll be far less suspicious for a couple to go around looking for information than a single man.
Bag: Kindle Location, 287
picked up his scuffed bag
Yellow: Kindle Location, 122
that showed uneven yellow teeth

Shoreline week: finished 9/22/12
Rating 5 out of 5 ♥'s
Read: Dead Witch Walking by Kim Harrison

Found:....Shoreline -
Jenks had left via the window shortly after we crossed the river, into Kentucky. (page 58)

also can claim
Found:....Healer (pg 134)
The doctor wouldn't give up the records without being subpoenaed, and shortly after the request, the office burnt to the ground.
Found:....Orange (pg 200) She sat in the corner, snarling at anyone who got close, and drank orange juice all night.
Found:....Glitter (pg.415) Jenks was laughing, making circles of pixy dust to sift down like sunbeams to glitter on her shoulders.

Review: Holy Cow what a awesome book! Loved it! Rachel Morgan is a witch and also a bounty hunter with "IRS" until she decides to strike out on her own leaving the IRS with a death contract on her head because they are not keen on folks leaving the system!

I loved it when her and Ivy (a vampire) team up together in their business because Rachel does not even like vamps and is scared to death of her own partner. And they also have a so called 3rd partner whom I adored, Jenks, a pixie with a zillion kids and an overprotective wifey with medical expertise.

It was just a really fast paced story, full of action, that centered around Rachel, Jenks, and Ivy starting their business, moving in together, and working feverishly to get the contract off Rachels head.

JenniferJ can you add to your shoreline qoute, or justify it. You bolded "ocean" ocean is not the same as shoreline. If there is more to it that clarifies the land meeting the water can you include it.

Coast on page 65 - 'By this means he passed through the midst of them unseen, and wandered on till he reached the coast....'
Wheel on page 14 - 'You must have an iron horse cast, which must have little wheels under each foot.'
Non-Human - page 40 - '...though it is only fair to say that the fairies did not love them half so well as their wives did.'

Review

this collection of short fairy tales from around the world is a good all round collection with some personal favourites included but after a while it got a little monotonous as many of the tales were so similar.
