Christina (AKA Babbling) (babblingbookreviews) | 84 comments Lest you all think I've gone color blind...I thought that maybe Charley was wearing a bluish-black. I know I've read books where something was described that way (someone's wings in Angels' Blood?). And black is usually associated with Grim Reapers...well, maybe not so much with Charley. ;-)

Anyway...thanks, ladies! :D

How to Hyperlink to a Specific Post

Do you want add a hyperlink from your ~ Reading Goals ~ Folder to your post in a challenge? (This folder may have a different name, depending on which group you post in.) Here’s how:

1. Once you set up your folder, click on the “some html is ok” look-up at the top of the
comment box and follow the Link directions.

2. You want to copy the following from the look-up
3. Cut and replace the section of html code (in-between the two quotation marks;
made bold in the example below) with the post's link.

4. You can copy that by placing your cursor on the "post's time stamp"
(for lack of a better term) located in the beige bar to the far right.
    (Screen #1, red arrow.)

Screen #1

5. On the drop down menu, use your right-mouse-click button on “Copy shortcut
or “Copy link address” and copy link location.
(Shown below bold & between the two yellow lines. As you can see, it can be quite long.)
6. Next, change the “my link text” to what you want, such as the name of the
challenge and the post number. (In bold below.)

message 134: by Lisa Kay (last edited Sep 05, 2012 05:29AM) (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments How do I strike out the text to effectively cross it out?
Example of a striking out text!
To strike out text you put you cursor before the words you wish to striked out and type the small letter s sandwiched between a less-than sign and greater-than sign <>. At the end of the text you want to strike out you put a forward slash and small s - that looks like this:
/s
sandwiched between these two signs (less-than and greater-than) < >.

message 135: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments Some people like to use checkmarks instead of striking out text when they have finished reading a book. Here are a couple: ✔ ✓

Just put your cursor/mouse up to the left (or right) of the symbol posted to copy it. Click the left mouse key and hold down while moving the mouse until the star is highlighted. Then right mouse click to copy.
Or, if you type (most) everything in WinWord first (before posting to GoodReads) like I do, you can use the MS Gothic or Malgun Gothic fonts. To see what is available, use the "insert symbol" command. If you don't have it, here are some popular ones for you to copy.

Some more symbols for copying.

★ ☀ ☂ ☆ ☹ ☺ ♥ ♡ ♩ ♪ ♫ ♬ ✔ ✓ ♔ ♕ ♖ ♗ ♘ ♙ ♚ ♠ ♪ ♬ ♩ ◈ ☎ ☆ ♀ ♂ ☆ ☜ ☝ ☞ ☟ ☠ ☮ ☯ ☻ ☃ ☁ ✿ ❀ ❂ ❄ ¿ ✗ ✘ ✤ ✣ ✡ ✞ ✌ ➜ ʘ ※ ⁑ ∞ ≠ + ÷ ® © º ☤ ✆

Always do a preview to see what will show and what won't.
