Winter's Orbit is probably my best example (which was of course originally posted to AO3 as an original work) but I'm also looking at indie/self-published stuff or stuff that started out that way, e.g. Becky Chambers' Wayfarers series, Space Unicorn Blues by TJ Berry, and cult stuff like Captive Prince (even though I hated it) or All For The Game. The Fence comics are a pretty good example too. I don't know... if anyone has any recs that are like these books I'd appreciate it! ...more
