I am a lifelong fan of science fiction and fantasy. I learned to read early and so long ago that I don't remember not knowing how. I have an A.B. in Biology, and I attended the Clarion West science fiction writing workshop but stopped writing science fiction and started trying to write science fact when I went to graduate school for Neuroscience. I have two school-age children and I recently retired from working full-time to pursue science education and outreach. I am exploring writing novels for kids and young adults to inspire them to think creatively about science, technology, and ecology. I play the violin in a community orchestra and I blog about being an adult returner to the instrument at violinist dot com.
