So, I finished this book today, and I still kinda don't know what was going on. Things became a little more clear as I read, but I had a hard time picturing things, or really knowing the whys or hows. It was definitely interesting and entertaining, and once I settled in to just enjoy the story and not worry so much about "getting it", it was a lot easier to like. It was very different from anything else I've read, which is kind of refreshing, even if it was almost too different at times. ...more

This book was stunning! (The audiobook was great too.) The characters - especially Harrow and Gideon - were great fun and well fleshed out. There was mystery, intrigue, adventure, and wonder. I just loved it.

It was hard to keep track of the characters. There were character studies in the back of the book - which I enjoyed - but it would have been nice to have a Dramatis Personae in the front too.

I'm not really sure what the heck was going on for the majority of this book. I'm still not 100% sure what happened. But I did enjoy this book a lot. I adore Gideon. ...more

This book was okay, I was expecting a bit more due to hearing it was a must read. Liked the storyline overall, but little weird.

I loved the idea of this book far more than the execution. I wish I had any sense of Gideon’s goal/want/need or any ability to follow the plot and its convoluted cast of characters. An interesting world weighed down by its secrets - too many of which kept the reader in the dark until it was too late. So disappointing.
