Now that's what I call a thrill ride of book. Lots of excitement and of course fighting. I love Harry Dresden!

I love me some Harry Dresden! Thank you, my good GR friend who introduced me to this awesome UF series about a hard-on-his-luck, kick ass wizard-for-hire roaming the streets of modern day Chicago and looking out for the underdog.
The books just seem to be getting better and better. Unlike most series that make it into the double digits, the Dresden Files has not lost its lustre for me at all. Plotlines come together like a woven tapestry, then are torn apart again. The stories are both blunt and ...more

I fear I've entered the most tragic segment of the series. I mean, sure, Butcher has never been afraid of killing off characters. But now I'm eleven books in and anyone who's been around this long actually means something, dammit.

Harry Dresden is charged with many tasks in this novel and while he pretty much comes out on top, he doesn't come out unscarred. Harry must defend unlikely ally Warden Morgan from the White Council, find out who the real traitor is in the Council, and save his brother and friends from a wayward skinwalker. This was another terrific entry into the Dresdenverse!
Warden Morgan has been charged with the murder of a council member, but he swears he is innocent. He turns to Harry for help and the irony ...more

Poor Harry, nothing is ever easy for him, and he regularly suffers more than any other protagonist I know - this book was definitely up there in Harry torture. Not to say this was all doom and gloom, as there were, as always, some truly amusing moments - especially at his apartment with Molly, Mouse, Morgan and Anastasia. This book brought in most of the series' cast of characters, and that's always welcome. The mystery behind the Black Council deepens and grows. This book is full of love and lo
