What do you get when you mix Mercy and Riley? Branded by Fire! The story begins at Dorian & Ashaya's mating ceremony. Mercy (Melisande), DarkRiver's sentinel, is in heat. Which is a problem because she's a dominant female leopard in a pack where none of the dominant males push her buttons. One male does though ... I loved it!! It was so great watching the cat and the wolf work out a relationship that was so fraught with complications. Both of them making compromises, without compromising who they are. It is so essential, to me, that neither of these two strong characters had to choose to give up everything to be with each other. I loved that they were able to strike a balance and maintain even footing.

From the very first paragraph I knew Mercy and Riley would make an explosive and highly entertaining pair, and I was right. However my interest did wane a little when the POV moved from the main couple so I can only give it 4 stars but it's a very solid 4 stars. ...more
