as a team i believe we got him some Walking dead action figures for x-mas... "
My former boss is a huge Johnny Depp fan and she had a life-sized cardboard cutout of Captain Jack in her office for the longest time.

Aww, that's so sweet! TY!

You mean not all PNR books have explicit sex? :)
I honestly don't know if I want to read PNR books without sex in them any more. There has to be the right amount of it, which is admittedly a hard balance to find and not every reader will want as much sex as the next, but still... For me? Now? I want the explicitness.
I no longer care for books that have sex take place off stage like it usually does in many novels I read. I read a lot of espionage and suspense and science fiction and fantasy. There is not a lot of sex and if there are references to it, they are just that and the sex takes place off stage. I don't want erotica, not that there's anything wrong with it, and at times, it may be very enjoyable, but I am a plot/story/character driven reader and I want a plot/story/character with my sex. Or should I say, I want sex with my plot and story and character.

Oh CRAP. I am unable to resist that description... HOW CAN I WRITE MY OWN BOOKS WHEN THERE ARE SO MANY GREAT BOOKS I WANT TO READ?

yes we wait ..."
Have they had time to truly love each other?

It comes back to means and ends again. Michel is truly honourable in all he does, but what is the price he pays and is willing to pay? Does he make the right choice? Events in Book 4 will be even more a test for him and for his bond to Julien and Eve's feelings for him. There will be some happiness for them all, but also heartbreak and regret.

Thanks for the food for thought! Michel is a rather tortured soul. Julien, as Michel himself says, has adjusted to life as a vampire and to modernity. MIchel is still medieval and still a priest at heart. He tries to be modern, but he has this continuing sense of loss. His life is consumed by his mission in a way that Julien's isn't. Michel fights to retain that part of his life that he lost when he was turned and feels guilt about the life he must accept because he is a vampire.
Julien is more adaptable. Julien likes being a vampire. He enjoys it. He's able to adjust to it, especially given his special status as a vampire hunting vampire.
I was interested in exploring how different identical twins can be despite sharing almost identical genetic inheritances. Julien was born a few moments before Michel and that has made all the difference. In a way that will be revealed in Book 4...

Good! I have succeeded in my evil plot to make you undecided!

Yes, because I have a fairly respectable position in government working in a professional job and only a couple of colleagues know I write and they don't know what my pen name is. I don't think I could look my boss in the eye if she knew what I write. LOL. She's quite the cultured reader and as much as I love writing what I write and take it seriously, I don't want to risk people knowing. If I can retire from government and take up writing full-time, I won't give a crap what anyone thinks but right now, I have to keep my three lives separate (Policy Analyst, writer, climate blogger).

Yeah it's amazing what living for four or five decades does to your perspective on life. I found turning 40 was a real game changer for me.

I don't know if either of them has read the books and is pretending not to to spare my feelings (I'd be MORTIFIED if my father read them but my mother gets the vampire thing and has read FSOG. My father does look a bit funny at me now and then LOL! He's just really pleased that I am writing and enjoying myself. We have had some very frank discussions about sex and sexuality and he understands the interest in kink and the forbidden. And I think he generally understands that women want explicit sex in their books along with other elements. Now that I am a grown woman, that is. He was freaked about me dating when I was a teen.

We and the cats thank you ;)"
LOL I talked to my dad about this at lunch (I have lunch with my parents each Saturday) and he said "Why doesn't Eve bring the cats to Michel's place? Or Julien's place?"
I told him, after a long pause while I formulated an answer, that Eve wanted to keep her apartment as a place for herself separate from the twins so she could keep her identity but that maybe, when Eve is able to make a choice, her cats will come and live with her and whomever she decides to be with.

I wasn't a big fan of Anastasia. (view spoiler) There are a lot of readers who feel real affection towards Anastasia. She has a humorous streak, and is tolerant enough of Christian's foibles that she is able to accept him and love him. I think despite her somewhat annoying traits (for me) I cut her a lot of slack for that. But it was Christian Grey who fascinated me as a character and I bow down in awe of EL James for writing such a great character and giving him such a great romantic character arc.

Welcome Bleumoon! Thanks for popping by. Pull up a log and take a place around the campfire. Toast a marshmallow. Where I live, it's currently -20C and bitter cold. I'm pretending I'm in some nice southern climate where it's warm all year round. I refuse to acknowledge reality. :)

Michel will do whatever he believes he must do in order to achieve his end.

Or, (view spoiler)
