Yay! I'm glad I made you grin! I, personally, think you ..."
I think I can write 3 books a year, the Good Lord Willing And The Crick Don't Rise... (my grandpa's saying) That means that if I can get TA done by April and then Resurrection done by August and Redemption done by December, the prequel that chronicles the fall would be released in April 2014. So only a year and two months... ;)
It seems like an eternity and I am so itching to write the prequel.
If I could write full time, I might be able to squeeze in four books a year. Maybe one year...

You don't know how awesome it is to see someone talk about the backstory to my novels! I'm just grinning like an idiot!
Yes, I was thinking of starting with the event that causes Julien to leave the priesthood, when the Church launches the Cathar Crusade and their father's estate comes under attack. Julien decides to stay and defend the estate, Michel choses to stay with the priesthood and serve the local Cardinal. He's ambitious and wants to be a bishop. He thinks he can intervene and save his father and brother, but he can't.
To flash back to Danielle, Julien reflects on the differences between them and back to when they were born, and then to when both fell in love with Danielle. Of course, they met her when they were both 17 the year before they went to Toulouse to seminary. So that would be done in flashbacks because the crusades didn't start until they were 30. So there were many years in between Michel losing his virginity and them both becoming priests and the break between him and Julien. I could do the whole Michel - Danielle interlude as a prologue. Will have to consider how best to tell that story.
I can't wait to write Marguerite. She is such a total badass vampire. She has a real history that explains a lot of who she is and why she acts as she does. And also we see more of Soren. I love writing Soren. He's such a manipulator. While the three live in Paris, we see the first inkling of the Council of Clairveaux forming.
OMG this makes me want to write it so badly!

You are a reader - that qualifies you! I don't expect literary criticism - just honest feedback on how it read, if you liked the characters, and if you would buy based on the cover, blurb and if you would keep reading. Also, any issues that might prevent you from liking etc.

It's been sustantially revised since I password protected it. If you want to be a first reader and offer constructive crit and feedback let me know! Will likely have first half of the book ready by Friday.

I started to read Backstage Pass - will have to finish it!

Of course, as the author I'm biased but I do love both twins and they both have had such interesting lives since they were turned. 800 years is a long time to live and many have experiences ...

Oh dear- considering I was criticized for jumping on the BDSM bandwagon by including D/s in where it didn't make sense... ;)
I won't mention the fact I was doing research on the lifestyle and talking with Doms and subs a decade before FSOG ever was popular... Oops - did I mention it???
Glad I was able to introduce you to this! For a lot of women, FSOG was the first they heard of it and it has really opened up this world to closer scrutiny. My CR is all about that.

Yeah, I love that one as well. Very appropriate mood music for writing my series. It makes me think of Julien's time as a Knights Templar and then as a pirate. Oh, he has such a great history! 800 years gives you lots of time to do interesting things...
LOL I could spend the rest of my life writing about these two from the time they were made vampires until the present. If people would read them, that is!

Yeah, what is it about Austin, Texas? So many of my new friends live there.

No, it was the year that they were turned and the year Julien started to write the manuscript.

I MUST WRITE 1224! I loved writing the manuscript excerpts almost as much, if not more, than the actual books. ;)

VAST is very hard to categorize. It's a real fusion of different genres.I think the main guy is a freakin' genius. Some of their stuff gets really... weird... but I love weird so it's all good.

It's also muse for the manuscript excerpts that will be part of the last two books -- and the prequel trilogy.

You're both on the list! I hope to have something to you soon but it's slow going. I'm half done the revision of the first half of the book. The section I send will be up to the midpoint, which Syd Field describes thusly, in Karel's terms:
"An important scene in the middle of the script, often a reversal of fortune or revelation that changes the direction of the story." Field suggests that driving the story towards the Midpoint keeps the second act from sagging. For once I find Field more helpful than others. An executive at the talent agency ICM is trying to get his head around it:
"An event occurs wherein the character cannot give up his pursuit. It is a “no turning back point.” The bridge has been burned behind him (figuratively speaking), and he can only move forward. Often, this is manifested as a TICKING CLOCK. In classically structure (sic) romantic comedies, this is the point where the man and woman sleep together."
Say no more.

It's really undergoing a metamorphosis - I changed tense (First Person Present to First Person Simple Past), POV (Dual Drake and Kate to single from Kate's POV) and some other features. I think I have it the way I want it now so a few more revisions and then I will send you the first half of the book for some feedback.

Can't wait! Will be glued to my television each week!

I've been reading some other books (shock) and when I return to the Dominion series I remain impressed by both the writing and storytelling.

Thank you Wendy for the very nice comment! That means so much to me!
