I put the little black squiggles onto the page and you interpret them and create people and settings and events in your mind, transforming the black squiggles into feelings, images, etc. The creativity is not all one way. Readers are also creative in their reading. That's why writing and reading and books are so much more mentally stimulating that films. Films are right there, showing you and forcing images on you. With books, the reader does a great deal of the work.
My characters feel real to me, in that sometimes they do not follow my wishes and say things that I didn't plan. But they don't sit in the same room with me like ghosts or anything. ;)
How I wish!

SSo, you're writing CR, but you're also in the middle of writing D... Do you ever feel like you're at war between the two? I mean, do you find yourself struggling to write the CR when you have ideas popping in your head about books 4&5? Almost like M&J are trying to take over & demanding that you write about them first?"
I had to take a break after Retribution. You can imagine it was very draining writing it. I have wanted to write a CR for a while, and thought it would be a good break from PNR. I am all into my CR, but because I had to do the high level outline for the inquiry I had (not mentioning anything yet, still just potential) I had to sit down and write it out. That brought me back into the lives of the twins and Eve and I started to imagine scenes from Book 4. But I'm hot into the CR so I can't begin to write on Book 4 yet. Drake is very different from either Julien or Michel. Although he looks suspiciously similar to them with that black hair and blue eyes... ;)

You're on. ;)

I'm revising it to change the tense from FP Present to FP Simple Past. It's slow going. Plus I am writing. Almost at the first sex scene. So excited! Once I have it revised, I will be asking for first reader feedback.

Moi? A tease???
I'm itching to write it, but have to finish my CR first. But the twins and book 4 are playing on my mind...

Michel resented being made a vampire so much, he never got over it, despite acting like he did (view spoiler) He does come across as older than Julien. (view spoiler)

I definitely think he hoped to be a bad boy and not get tangled up with Eve emotionally or in Soren's plans for the twins. He did some pretty harsh things in Ascension but also some very selfless things. (view spoiler) Poor boy.

I'll take you up on that offer! Beware... ;)

This could be Michel & Eve once she has submitted

Very moody and meaningful...

Definitely lots of guilt. He's a master of it. Michel has a lot to be guilty for and some undeserved guilt. He feels a lot of responsibility for things that are not of his doing, and that colours his behaviour. He always tries to control his response to everything and it's only very rarely that he actually acts or says anything that isn't pre-screened and calculated. He rarely loses control... It must be very tiring.

Certainly it would be extremely hard for anyone to overlook or ignore what Eve finds out. Can she really ever forget (view spoiler)
