Charlene wrote: ""Unrestrained on 8th Ave"? Coz now I like the new cover...but I did really like the pen and contract as well...WOW, this is tough - how do you authors do it?"Just "Unrestrained" I think... I've asked my graphic artist to rework the cover and will post as soon as he has something.

What about "Unrestrained"? It plays on Drake's love of bondage and reflects that neither can keep control over their emotions and what was supposed to be just an arrangement to explore kink becomes a serious love affair. Your thoughts? A search on Amazon turns up only two previous titles and not current or visible... I could keep the pen to symbolize their signing the contract.

Love the concept. Just needs a little stylizing, me thinks. Less blocky. Also, unusual for me, I preferred the colour version."OH, yeah, the ones I did were just mock up for my graphic artist to work with. He has the great fonts and can line everything up, fix things and do it properly for eBook format and print format.

Here's another crack:

I just read the sample for Beautiful Bastard
, Don't know what I think of it...
Paris (kerbytejas) wrote: "interesting cover - not sure what I think the book is about when i see it- so it will need to be a GOOD blurb"Yeah. If I go with "Affair on 8th Avenue" people will know its a love story or romance. I will definitely mention kink in the blurb so as to make sure the reader is prepared. I can still talk about the whole arrangement idea. Going to have to work on the blurb, but of course, have to finish the novel first! Should have it done by March 7th. Will ask for beta readers to read the whole novel at that point. I've already edited it again since y'all read it based on your feedback~

I googled "The Arrangement" and the first hit was a Twilight Fanfic of the same name at fanfiction.net. OY. I guess The Arrangement is now officially out of the running...

Here's one that just has the address on it instead of the song title:
Paris (kerbytejas) wrote: "and then maybe the cover could be a base guitar laying on the contract...in such a way that it could almost look like sheet music or the contract"I have to say that I'm really liking the last cover that I made. LOL. It doesn't look like a typical romance cover but more a love story and I like that. When I see that cover, I think of what is going on behind the curtains. Their time at the apartment on 8th avenue will be very happy as Kate gets into Drake's kinks and he starts to fall seriously in love with her. Of course, the path of true love is seldom straight... Shit happens... But if you read my books, you already know that!
Paris (kerbytejas) wrote: "its corny but cute/ sweet.. better might be Kate at one of Drake's Band's events and he plays the song for her but she doesn't know it.. and later during an intimate moment he tells her he played i..."Oh you're even more corny than me!
Paris (kerbytejas) wrote: "could you write a scene where Drakes band does a cover of the Gordon Lightfoot song - this tying the title to a section of the book?"I could write any scene. ;) I was actually thinking of that this afternoon. I could have Drake play the music for Kate at the love nest and comment on how appropriate it is for them or is that too corny? I tend to love those kind of things and this is a romance...

Affair on 8th Avenue is pretty lyrical and I'd rather keep it that tone than try to work in something related to kink. Of course, the whole premise of the novel is that it's just supposed to be this very limited contractual relationship for sex / research / kink only, but because of complications and mutual attraction, it instead becomes a serious love affair. I'm going to work on a sample cover of my own making.

I might just go with the address of the apartment where they meet in secret. Something on 8th Avenue. The question is this -- now do I use the pen since that was because the title was "The Agreement" and the pen symbolized them signing it. Now, perhaps I will go with something else. This cover and title thing is difficult!

I'm open to suggestions. I thought about the location of Drake and Kate's love nest as a title. I thought about the name of an old Gordon Lightfoot song. "Affair on 8th Avenue". My dad is a big Lightfoot fan and took us to concerts as kids. This song always stuck with me.

The title "The Arrangement" is not written in stone. What do you think of the title? Can you think of a better one?

I'm going to post a draft blurb that would go with the cover on the Amazon web page or back cover and would love feedback on it. Need to know if it hooks you. For a guide, maybe people could link to or quote blurbs that hooked you or are similar to TA.

The graphic artist had the option of one with no contract in it as well. Will post later...
