I prefer TV adaptations when they are faithful to the book. I've seen the P&P version with Colin Firth like 20 times!
Some of the books I'm considering:
Totally agree with you Lyn on preferring the book to the movie. They are such different mediums and movies almost always have to condense the story/characters in order to fit it in a certain timeframe. Also, agree on the casting! Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher is totally ridiculous.
I can't think of the top of my head of movies that I prefer to the book but I know there are some...I just have to remember!
I think some of them are not made into movies yet but will be...like
. Others like
are really TV shows but we know Goodreaders shelve books in very interesting ways! :)
I have no desire whatsoever to read Go Set a Watchman. Given that HL wrote it first, it seems to me that she had a different idea of the characters than when she wrote Mockingbird.
I've also read a lot of the books in page 1. And this is a shelf where Harry Potter actually fits!! Hahahaha!
This was soo difficult! I was seriously considering like 5 shelves...but given the time of year and all the summer blockbusters coming out, I finally settled on...Movies (I was originally thinking of 'made into a movie' but plain 'movies' has more books!)
This should also be broad enough for all tastes. :)
I'll select the image a bit later!
I read
, which is as southern as you get, specially if you listen to the audiobook. I totally loved it (rated 4-stars). The atmosphere is great (set in Charleston, a city I simply love), the love interest is broody and grrr! and the whole plot is so gothic. Totally recommend it! I'm dying to start book 2. :)

This was the book that turned me into fantasy. :)I read it many years ago and have been meaning to do a re-read in audio but Nick P.'s voice is not as lyrical as I imagined so I haven't been able to. Maybe I should just push those first few chapters until I get used to his interpretation...
Lauren wrote: "The Restorer is amazing. Highly recommend the audiobook as well."Yup, have it in audio! I'm a big fan of Kristine Hvam and probably why I bought it.
I just finished
and gave it 4.5 stars. This is a story of a girl who's dealing with her mother's death when her father remarries and takes her away from everything familiar. Even though the topics are very serious, the story is actually pretty light.Totally recommended!

It was good and what I typically expect from Sarah Addison Allen. It was lacking some of the magic from Garden Spells, but I still enjoy..."
Totally agree!!

I've read many books for this shelf and have tons on my TBR that I haven't read yet but for some reason, none of them are calling out to me!
Sigh...I'll have to look deeper into the shelf...

is not really magical realism..."Sounds like an interesting series :) I've added the first one to my tbr."
It is! I hope you enjoy it. :) If you end up liking Ilona and Gordon's style, they several other amazing series. I'm a HUGE fan. :)
is not really magical realism but somebody shelved it as such. Love the creative shelvers. :)This is the second book in a series and I rated it 4-stars. This book had such an elaborate world building and lots of good twists. If you like action in your books and don't mind some fantasy, you must read Ilona Andrews.
I have a magical realism shelf too in case some of you want to check it out...https://www.goodreads.com/review/list...Not sure what I'll read for this...I don't have many I haven't read anymore...
