8565 A lot of really good books!

My pick for this is #2 in my TBL pile. But it will take a while because I'm barely 15% with the 56 hrs. long book I'm listening now.

8565 I finished My Beloved which was a medieval. Better late than never, LOL!

Now I'm listening to my pick for this month's shelf: The Fiery Cross.

8565 That's exactly how you do it, Bea. Welcome!

That's a very good book.

8565 Finally I got The Blood of Flowers from the library! I should be listening it after The Fiery Cross (which means that I'll get to it towards the end of the month most likely. :)

That is sooo true!

8565 Perfect avi, Dee!

8565 Oh I want to read that book, Bridgette!!

8565 It's taken me a while to get used to the Ella Enchanted's audiobook because the narrator sounds soo young! (She's supposed to be 15 but sounds like 12.) Also, there's a lot of music to set the mood which is great but but sometimes it's too loud.

I've only read one book by SKP, When Christ and His Saints Slept which is the prequel of the book I'm reading now and it was AMAZING. I like Henry II a lot and everything is going very well at the beginning of this book but I KNOW everything will go to hell in a hand basket and I sort of don't want to get to that part! That's why it's going so slow.

I'm planning to read SKP backlist but I want to do it in historical order so I get the gyst of what was going on. So first I'll have to finish this series, Henry II & Eleanor of Aquitaine, and then I think I'll move onto the Welsh series (King John is one of Henry II's sons.)

8565 I'm listening two books: Ella Enchanted and Numbers. I'm also still reading Time and Chance, my medieval book but it's going slow! I soo like Henry II!!

8565 Monica - You don't have to participate every month. If the shelf chosen is completely outside your interests, you can skip it. The point of the group is to venture out and try new things, not make it a chore. :)

Also, don't feel pressured to finish a book if it's not your cup of tea, you don't have the time, etc. Nobody will throw you out of the group if you can't finish a book.

This month (which is my first in this group) I'm having issues finishing the book I chose. It's a second in a series I love and I'm really enjoying this one...but I know bad things will happen to a character I really like so it's going really slow! I hope to finish it by the end of the month although I don't know if I'll make it. ;)
8565 It's too bad I read Common Sense already. It's really great and not that long.

8565 Debbie ~ ☾ ~ wrote: "D.G., the Hydra? lol ok what prompted that one?"

LOL! My husband called me that the other day because I tend to tilt to one side and almost lose my balance and according to him I look like a hydra somersaulting (he was referring to the fresh water animal not the Lernaean Hydra but I liked this later reference because of the snakes.) Most of those nicks come from names my husband calls me (Toil & Trouble was one of them too). :)

Same with me! I've had the U.S. Grant's biography for ages in my TBR (I even bought the book!) but no way I feel like reading those 600+ pages.

8565 Liz is rocking!

Although I have a hard copy of the book selected for me, I've been waiting for the audiobook from the library. I'm the only person waiting for it and it's taken ages!!

8565 I just got a note from my library that Assassination Vacation is available for pick up.

Of course, I don't know if I'll read that one for the category yet. I just found out that two people shelved The Fiery Cross as 'American History' so I'm tempted to use that one. Or to pick up Huck Finn or Dreams from My Father.
