801397 For me it's not, though it could always be for someone else. I'm on 150 now and have seen at least some of the mental illness concerning Nettie.

I'm really enjoying it so far :)

801397 Man I hate Keeton so much! I'm on page 114.

Of course I am disabled and a wheelchair user, so it infuriates me anytime someone who isn't disabled thinks they can ignore the law and the fact that there are people who actually need those spaces and parks in the handicapped spot with no reason to. Anyone who does that is an asshole.

Keeton thinks he's above the law and is a self-important jackass. I'm pretty sure i'm supposed to hate him, and assuming that's true, King has done a great job.

I'm enjoying the book, I just really hate Keeton and had to get that off my chest.

801397 Hi and welcome Dan!

801397 I'm up to page 103, having read the first 2 things (parts?) of chapter 4.

I'm enjoying it! I feel so bad for Polly. And I love the way he's talking about Alan's depression. Dealing with chronic pain, and depression, myself, i'm just loving the way both are talked about and feeling for the characters. I love the way King can go slow and I just eat it up and fall for the characters.

And i'm so wondering what exactly the deal is with Mr. Gaunt. His eyes, the tricks. This definitely does seem to fit the trickster theme!

801397 Lol, tis the nature of opinions on books :) Apart from being let down a bit by the ending I did really enjoy it!

IF you decide to read it, I hope you enjoy it.

😂

I'm so looking forward to Mermay, and the group read ends up being one i've already read and was let down by the ending. I'm still planning on reading as many merfolk books as possible during May, I just won't have the group read in there too.

Sorry the reviews were unhelpful lol!

801397 Lol, I probably would. I need to put it on my to watch bucket list.

Lol! And also, I haven't seen The Rocky Horror Picture Show either. I'm sure it's shame on me at this point...i'll see myself out.

801397 I'll still read it eventually. I didn't know it was from the dogs pov!

Glad you are enjoying it so far.

801397 Well I read the 50 pages today and...it was just enough to get me interested and wanting to read more!

Though I can see, even though I haven't read or seen Cujo, what was being said about Needful Things spoiling Cujo, it really does seem to in the prologue, going so far as to say (view spoiler) Which is kinda sad because I do want to read Cujo at some point. But it's too late now (to unread it I mean. I'm still going to read Cujo at some point)

801397 I'll be starting it later today too. I'm actually buddy reading it and we've went with 50 pages a day, so it'll take us 16 days. :)
Apr 01, 2019 02:20AM

801397 I read it last year too, so I won't be joining in for May either. I'll be reading a lot of merfolk books, at least that's the plan, but I won't be re-reading Into the Drowning Deep.

801397 Into the Drowning Deep by Mira Grant has won May's group read for Merfolk! This is the thread to discuss Into the Drowning Deep in May.

Please use spoiler tags and chapter/page numbers when talking about the book.

Wow, that was fast!"

Thanks. I probably could have read it in like 3-4 days if it's all I was focused on but initially I was reading other things and with it's slow start it wasn't holding my interest to begin with.

801397 I have finished! I rated it 3.25 my review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

801397 Well i'm on page 243 and...i'm liking it. I'm not loving it but i'm liking it ok enough. There is also a lack of terror in me, someone who shrieks everytime she sees a spider in real life, so...there's that. But i'm not hating it, though it does make me roll my eyes at all the "who is sleeping with who" like I care in the spiderpocalypse lol.

801397 As we already have quite a few nominations already i'll leave this open today (I'm on the east coast of the US) and tomorrow set up the poll. :)
