The Tommyknockers by Stephen King has won January's group read! This is the thread to discuss The Tommyknockers in January. Please use spoiler tags and chapter/page numbers when talking about the book.

Well...I didn't enjoy that. I gave it 2 stars. I'm sorry but it really wasn't for me after all. I was liking it to a point but too many things irritated me that I kept forgiving because I thought it was going to do something with it all and it didn't (to me) and I get invested in characters easily, especially when I relate to them (like the fire PTSD and domestic abuse).
I hope others enjoy it more than I did.

I'm chugging along and still really enjoying it! I still don't trust Wainwright either.

I plan to close the thread sometime tonight (EST) so there's still today for noms/+1's :)

TW: Fire (for the book as a whole)
Chapter 14
(view spoiler)[ I was in a house fire in 2012 so I REALLY feel for Sam and understand his PTSD that is showing through a lot. I have been struggling to like Moore, thinking she was the most simultaneously likeable and unlikeable character but when she came to Sam's rescue, just like that *snaps fingers* i'm in love with her, and I really really hate Wainwright, the evil bastard!! He set them up, either deliberately or because he's just that clueless and heartless, either way, he's evil in my book.
Also that chapter made me emotional in so many ways, including when the writers stood up for each other. I even felt sorry for Daniel (which I wasn't aware I could because of the whole religion thing making me roll my eyes, but still I felt sorry for him with Wainwright). (hide spoiler)]Edit: I edited the spoiler a bit

I have read part one, the first 9 chapters. They are at the house. Part two begins.

I've read 5 chapters so far and i'm liking it already even though the fun hasn't begun yet.

I hope no one's mad but I started this one a bit early. I'm reading it on Scribd.

I will +1 The Tommyknockers and Little Heaven.
I've been wanting to read Tommyknockers (and while I don't have it I could get it or read it via libby or scribd) and I have Little Heaven.

January's theme will be cults!
Nominate some Cult books to read in January!
After this thread has been up for a bit and has some nominations a poll will be held with the nominations to decide January's group read.
Books with seconds, thirds etc. are more likely to make it to the poll if there are a lot of nominations.

I just finished
A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas and loved it! I'm not sure if i'll get to anything else with creatures in it this month but this has a lot of Fae in it, so there's that.

I'm currently reading
A Court of Mist and Fury which has fae in it. Not sure if i'll read anything else with some creature in it or not. But I am enjoying it so far.
Kill Creek by Scott Thomas has won December's group read! This is the thread to discuss Kill Creek in December. Please use spoiler tags and chapter/page numbers when talking about the book.
