For melancholic members, a poem by John Keats .....Charles Addams, creator of the infamous but beloved Family, was born on this day in 1912.

Indeed! I saw the NZ collapse (copied from England), and I thought Pakistan would win. But well done to the Kiwis.Yes, I think 40 minutes would be enough for me. But maybe the heat gave them extra appetite.
Glad you liked it GB. Of course robots will appear more often in poetry as they appear in the real world of the humans.
Today is National Science Fiction Day. Here is a poem about robotshttps://us12.campaign-archive.com/?e=...
At first I thought the New year has stung GB into action. But then I considered that the style is somewhat archaic. Of course, it's by Ms Wilcox! But thanks for posting it.
The New YearThe Earth has moved
The new year has come
The time for new thoughts:
Our dreams
Of what we desire.
But in those dreams
What fears may come?
Of war,
Of pestilence.
But Pandora has left us
A gift
The gift of hope.
We must cling to it.
It is a pity my "friend" was not a Babylonian. I am still waiting for him to return an LP he borrowed 50 years ago.
Thanks GB for the information about the Babylonians and others. Good luck to all with your resolutions.
Thanks PE.My congratulations to DA and Darci, esteemed members of the group. May it live a thousand years!
