Ha ha! This isnt crime fiction ....The consensus is that they developed their ideas independently. Something held Darwin back from publishing, perhaps his religious convictions.
I do not mock. The Rodin sculpture is widely known by its image, but the emoji must be more widely known. I make no judgement on the aesthetic value of each.

Certainly he has godlike status. But we should also remember Alfred Russel Wallace. He had similar ideas to Darwin, and his publications prompted Darwin to finally publish his works.
