New poems celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Windrush immigrationhttps://poemsontheunderground.org/
Today is the Summer Solstice (northern hemisphere only), and the Druids gather at Stonehenge to worship the sun.
I hope your election period is not too awful. We have no general election pending, but the by elections will be much scrutinized.
I think Rishi is honest, and has certain abilities. Of course I wish him, and the electorate, good luck.
True. British politics is in a parlous state. Where are the giants of yesteryear, Pitt, Gladstone, Churchill? Are there any honest politicians down under who might help us out?
Indeed, that makes three of them. I cannot post more, for fear of the draconian Contempt of Court laws.
Mortality"What fools these mortals be".
Indeed.
But with our folly
We have wisdom.
So in our lives
We can achieve great things,
Love deeply,
Enjoy immensely.
But our mortality is waiting.
We don't know when
But the end will come.
All we can ask
Is that it will be quick
And painless.
My own tribute .....He had a magical way
With words
And musical sounds.
In his head
He voyaged to Saturn
And Jupiter
And into the past
To ancient Egypt.
And with his heart
He wished
For love and joy.
My FatherHe enjoyed life,
But his interests
Were different from mine
And we did our own things.
I helped him with his accounts,
An awful chore,
But I was glad to help him,
As he did so much for me.
But now that he's gone,
I wish I'd done more
To connect with him.
But one time
We cycled to a pub
And we discussed
A wide range of topics
From anarchy
To zoology.
A nice memory.
