770270 Doughnut time is here again,
I haven't had one
Since I don't know when.
One for me,
And one for Ben.
Doughnut time is here again.

770270 The Alice books are great throughout. My favourite part is in Looking Glass, where she conversed with the gnat the size of a chicken, who gets sad when telling jokes.

770270 My mother used to say: "but answer came there none". I was quite old before I realised where it came from.

770270 Ah, a white seal. Interesting. Rudyard was in India, do they live there?

770270 Indeed! I don't think I've read a poem about a seal. But it had been a while since my last nature poem.

There is also a walrus touring UK, but I haven't begun my poem about him yet.

770270 A poem inspired by a report of a seal in an English reservoir. It has eaten many of the fish, which has annoyed the local anglers. Attempts to remove it have so far failed.

The fish
Where are they?
There were loads yesterday.
Ah!
There's one .....
Whoosh .....
Got it!

Mmm ... delicious ....
A nice big fat one.
This is a good spot
I should have come here earlier.
The humans want to remove me
But I'm not going
I'm too smart for them ....

770270 Yes, I had not seen this poem before. Happily melancholia was long ago eradicated, though now we suffer from depression. Today mine is largely caused by the incessant rain.
