Indeed. When I was a student, two of my lecturers were working on the British project at Culham. And that was way back, before the invention of the internet. But fusion power was never going to be easy .....

I found it straightaway online, so my previous attempt to find it must have been pre-internet! The source is no surprise: herring fishing was a major industry in Scotland.

Thanks guys. Yes, it's strange what memories come back from over forty years ago.

Today I learned that my friend Tim has died. He worked at the company I joined for my first job. His knowledge helped me settle in, and he in particular made me feel welcome.

He had terminal cancer, so I knew the end was coming soon, but even so it has hit hard. Here is a saying he often uttered:

"Of all the fishes in the sea
The herring is the one for me"

Let it serve as his epitaph.
