I loved it too! Actually, I love all Penelope War..."

Both of the Penelope's are instant loves for me! Ward and Douglas both have a knack for beautiful stories. I still haven't read Gemini, either, I skipped over it and read the rest but want to go back and read it, too.

YAY!!! So glad I'll have someone to talk with about these, because I was all over the place with my theories as the read went on! I must know what you think after you read each and see if you came to the same conclusion, because what you think is happening in episode 1 is SO not what's really happening...well, unless you catch on before I did! lol

Oh I loved this one! But I love all of hers, so I guess that's not saying much. lol Glad you found one you enjoyed so much, any luck on finding something similar to Douglas' series?

That's good! And NG reviews don't have the added pressure that comes with putting it on a blog post, at least that's how I feel. I don't worry about being a bit more brutally honest when my reviews aren't going up for advertisement on the blog.

I know, right?! I just can't do stories that don't end well, there's enough sadness and heartache in the world so I need my happy endings when I break away from reality! ;-)

Yeah, I just couldn't get over how naive and kind of boring Bree was, she was just a weak heroine. Archer was dreamy, though. =)

I'm going to wait and see what you think of the sequel, just to see if it's worth starting. Hope it's good!!

Ugh that sucks, I hate when I have to read a book but it's painful. Any chance you can get out of it, or do have blog obligations?

I did love him, too, he saved this from being a DNF for me! lol

I'm fine with them being led by the characters, just don't lead us off a cliff head-first into major disappointment! LOL

I loved Soul Avenged, but I will say it's not as good as the other two. Definitely try out Soul Resurrected (Sons of Wrath, #2) by Keri Lake , I grew to love those characters with the last two books!!

I really liked Gravity, never did get back to that series after I read it. Glad you're liking it!

51477 I was on a serious book high after reading The Five Stages of Falling in Love by Rachel Higginson this week, it was INCREDIBLE!! Ripped my heart out multiple times, but I loved every single character in that story. I know a lot of its meaning hit home for me because I could relate so strongly to her mentality of finding love. Being a single mom of four and thinking a man will want all of that baggage is a huge wake-up call, and she had a lot of the same thoughts that I do. It endeared me a lot to her, and so on top of this incredibly moving and heart-wrenching story, I was right there with her. Beautiful story, realistic and genuine, and I loved every second!

And then I read Archer's Voice (A Sign of Love) by Mia Sheridan and I SO wanted to love this book. Part of me did, I mean Archer...wow! Adored this man. But Bree drove me crazy with her monotonous thoughts and how slow she was to figure things out, and a lot of the plot was just too unrealistic for a contemp romance. I loved the concept, just wish it was written by someone who could have handled it better. Sorry, I know pretty much everyone on here loved it, I'm bummed!

51477 Forgot to mention that I finished Be Mine Forever (The Bennetts, #3) by Kennedy Ryan and it was surprisingly deep and heart-wrenching. I went in expecting the typical Entangled-style contemp romance, but it was much better!

Yeah, honestly I would have taken it better if he had died defending her or been killed in battle being the hero that he started out as. Why, oh WHY do authors feel the need to ruin great characters just to make the story bend the way they wanted it to?! Ugh, it's making me mad thinking about it. lol

I'm waiting until the next movie comes out before I decide if I want to read it. I've heard only negative things about this one, and for as long of a read as that one is I don't want to waste the time if it's just not good. Sorry the audio wasn't doing anything to make it bearable!

Yeah, it's definitely one of the bigger character shift disappointments for me. I just hate being duped by authors, there's no need to make something overtly strong in one direction and then completely turn around the other way. SM wouldn't have been as brilliant if Adam hadn't been the incredible guy he was, but by doing that without the intention of him getting the girl...I felt cheated. Ah well, fiction is fiction.
