My Year 2024 in Books

I have a few goals this year:

1. Read a minimum of 60 titles [157 of 60]
(My average from 2011 through 2023 was 58)

2. Participate in a minimum of 7 Series Buddy Reads [16 of 7]
(Participation = two or more titles read in 2024)

3. Take full advantage of Libby, Hoopla, Kindle Unlimited & Comixology Unlimited
[ 25 Titles I Lost Count ]

4. Take part in the 2024 POPSUGAR Reading Challenge [ 18 of 50]

5. Read six books by Stephen King [ 0 of 6]

The (19) people have spoken, and I will start with Cupcakes for My Orc Enemy! I hope this will be a fun experience! :)

As for November ---

I read 20 titles with just over 6,000 pages total.

Although I had given up on completing the Sisters Grimm series, I ended up reading #s 7 & 8 and have the last one remaining,

I added four additional series possibilities for next year: The Iron Druid Chronicles (which begins today; The War of Lost Hearts (which starts on the 10th), Nightrunner, and the Stormlight Archive. I'll decide after reading the first book of each series if time permits.

I have more to say, but I have to start work now.

As we approach December, I know my reading goal title for next year: Buddy & Budget Reads.

I'm already signed up for at least six buddy reads in 2024:

- The Vorkosigan Saga (which technically starts this year - 10 December 2023); Spy X Family series; Discworld series; InCryptid series; Stephanie Plumb series (TBD); and The Old Man's War series.
Not to mention continuing the In Death series as the books are released.

When not tackling one of those, I also want to read/listen to as many Kindle and Comixology Unlimited titles as possible.

Oh! The three books were a series of themselves until each author branched off into individual series.

They kept popping up because of the Monsters Love Curvey Girls Series I read this year. The author, Michele Mills, also wrote Cookies for My Orc Neighbor.

I think the women collaborated; how else do you get three identical covers from three different authors?

I had two doctor's appointments this week. According to one of the doctors, I look 15 years younger than I am (so I guess that's something), but my body is feeling my age. Oh, well.

I've been slowly going through the two series finales and listening to A Closed and Common Orbit with my daughter; we may finish it tonight, depending on how she feels after work.

Yeah, thanks. But it all came crashing to a halt today. I tried reading both books but felt too drained to get anywhere. I've had some new health issues, and I think it's all caught up with me.

And now, it's November!

I read 15 books (6,000+ pages) last month.

For this month, I am currently reading First Lord's Fury (Codex Alera, #6), the series finale, and The Metaframe Adept (The Metaframe War, #7) also the series finale.
I think they'll both take me some time to finish as there is so much going on.

The newest Murdrbot Diaries selection comes out on the 14th - my daughter and I are looking forward to it. We'll also be reading the next Alex Verus title, Chosen (book #4) as well.

I have no idea if or when I'll finish Sisters Grimm; it's just not captured and kept my attention.

The only other series I specifically want to continue working on this month is A Side Character's Love Story. I read Volume #11 yesterday and am looking forward to the others. I love the quiet sweetness of it.

Oh! I forgot! Volume 11 of Saga comes out on November 15th; I may try to fit that one in as well.
