Done. And that selection was unexpected. LOL"

LOL. Thank you!! :D

They kept popping up because of the Monsters Love Curvey Girls Series I read this year. The author, Michele Mills, also wrote Cookies for My Orc Neighbor.

I think the women collaborated; how else do you get three identical covers from three different authors?

42178 I posted a new poll. Participation appreciated. :)

Thank you both so much!! (((HUGS)))

I had two doctor's appointments this week. According to one of the doctors, I look 15 years younger than I am (so I guess that's something), but my body is feeling my age. Oh, well.

I've been slowly going through the two series finales and listening to A Closed and Common Orbit with my daughter; we may finish it tonight, depending on how she feels after work.

I'm also very much looking forward to Murderbot!"

Yeah, thanks. But it all came crashing to a halt today. I tried reading both books but felt too drained to get anywhere. I've had some new health issues, and I think it's all caught up with me.

42178 And now, it's November!

I read 15 books (6,000+ pages) last month.

For this month, I am currently reading First Lord's Fury (Codex Alera, #6), the series finale, and The Metaframe Adept (The Metaframe War, #7) also the series finale.
I think they'll both take me some time to finish as there is so much going on.

The newest Murdrbot Diaries selection comes out on the 14th - my daughter and I are looking forward to it. We'll also be reading the next Alex Verus title, Chosen (book #4) as well.

I have no idea if or when I'll finish Sisters Grimm; it's just not captured and kept my attention.

The only other series I specifically want to continue working on this month is A Side Character's Love Story. I read Volume #11 yesterday and am looking forward to the others. I love the quiet sweetness of it.

Oh! I forgot! Volume 11 of Saga comes out on November 15th; I may try to fit that one in as well.

42178 It's great to hear that you're feeling more like yourself!!
Sorry about the Halloween party! I hope you and your mom can enjoy yourselves regardless.

Both of those series sound like fun (not that I need to add to my tbr either..but it is what it is, LOL).

That seemed to have happened to a lot of people. I still got notifications, but some older threads were marked "new."

42178 October Begins!

September by the numbers: 26.5 titles, almost 6,000 pages.
The reading streak says: 94 weeks; 186 days.

My last official read of September was A Side Character's Love Story Vol. 9, and my first official read of October is Saga, Volume 10 (which has me all caught up with this series until the new volume comes out next month).

Today, I plan to read Prince of Chaos, completing the The Great Book of Amber omnibus and series.

As for the rest of the month, I will continue the Codex Alera, Murderbot Diaries, Alex Verus, and In Death series. I also hope to fit in one or two of the Sisters Grimm books. I want to complete that series before the end of the year.

Congratulations on finishing. :)

Have a safe and happy weekend.

42178 Another month is done. How?

Numbers-wise, August was a good reading month - 28 titles totaling almost 9,000 pages. (My reading streak is 89 weeks; 156 days).
Quality, however, started to dip a little toward the end of the month.

My last reads of the month were Leather and Lace (Gold Sky, #5) and The Shop Around the Corner: A Sweet, Small Town, Southern Romance (Sweet Tea and a Southern Gentleman, #2).

Tonight, I started my first book for September - Captain's Fury (Codex Alera, #4). I am thoroughly enjoying this series.

I also hope to read Knight of Shadows (Amber Chronicles, #9), All Systems Red (Murderbot Diaries, #1), and Cursed (Alex Verus, #2) this month; plus, no later than Monday, I will start Apprentice in Death (In Death, #43).

I understand that completely!

42178 It is already August!

July was a good, solid reading month for me - 19 titles; 6,500+
pages. My reading streak is at 85 weeks, 125 days.

My last read of July was Concealed in Death (In Death, #38). I was amused to learn that the 57th book in the series, Payback in Death, will be released on 5 Spt. 2023! There is a 58th book due out in Feb. 2024 as well. (I do not know the title of that one yet).

I completed my first read of August yesterday - A Side Character's Love Story, Vol. 7 - a sweet romantic comic/manga series about a timid couple and how their relationship develops & grows. Volume 15 came out earlier in May. This was my 80th title for the year to date.

While I surpassed my number of titles goal, my physical books and series challenges aren't going as well. I don't know if I will meet either of those goals by the end of this year.

I am about to finish my third "previously started" series, however, by reading The Cormorant by Abigail Hilton. This story began as a primary series and a spin-off. She then rewrote the series, combining all the works and adding bonus stories at the end of each book to fill in any gaps.

I initially read the primary series' first three books years ago (all of which were then condensed into the first volume of the rewrite - The Guild of the Cowry Catchers).

It is an intense (dramatic, tragic) but fun series with characters you can't help but love (or love to hate). As Ms. Hilton notes:
Pirates of Wefrivain is an epic fantasy saga that includes LGBT+ themes, polyamory, dragons, sassy anti-heroes, characters overcoming a history of abuse, true love, talking cats, and outrageous clothing. Mature audiences only.

Oh, it also includes pirates (of course).

I was fortunate enough to borrow the entire set through Kindle Unlimited last year, but they are no longer offered as part of that program.
However, I purchased the audio versions, which are enjoyable!

42178 Good luck with your stitching and house hunting!

Maybe allow yourself one stitch-free night on the stitching so it feels less of a chore.

I agree with you about spending a little more for something closer to move-in ready. That way, you can concentrate on decorating the interior to your liking without worrying as much about major repairs.

I wish you the best!!

Not sure which one to choose, though.

Recommendations are welcomed and appreciated. Thank you :)
