I find it hard to do this without spoilers, but ... in Foundation and Empire, the Foundation is being overthrown by an identity known as The Mule. No one knows who the mule is, but in the final chapters of the novel their identity is revealed. I kind of suspected it, but was nearly thrown just before the reveal. To not spoil it, let's just say they are known by another name throughout the majority of the story.

Thank you Rosemary, for posting this book for this task in post 586, otherwise I would still have 6 hours of The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue to listen to and I don't think I would have finished the season!
