There was pretty much no bird or beast that was off limits for cooking and eating if you want to look back in time, particularly for the aristocracy. We eat so few fowl now( personally I have had quail, duck, goose, pigeon, pheasant, and often cooked poussin, but I previously worked in food distribution and serviced restaurants, so everything was readily available), but I remember reading about the vast array that were eaten previously.

Another source might have been the British tv series Supersizers Go, which you can watch on YouTube, which would spend a week eating in different time periods to see how healthy diets might have been. It was a fabulous series featuring a restaurant critic and a comedian and was really well done

How much of the text do the characters have to be hiding their identity? Huck Finn goes under many identities during his adventure, and both he and Tom Sawyer pretend to be other people (Huck pretends to be Tom, and Tom pretends to be his brother Sid)?

Considering for combos for The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.

Would The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn work? Only looking at combos, but with Huckleberry and Jim being the main characters, I think they would both seem to qualify.
