Yes, it is non-fiction. I just checked it out from my library. Since Anne Boleyn was born in 1601 you can also claim Combo points for Task 20.7 (Goodbye, So Long and Good Riddance)

You can go to any European country. The countries listed are those countries where you may need to cross some water to get to the next country.

If you're a "Land and Sea" traveller, (not Air) you can go to any country in Europe. You have to move through Europe travelling from one country to another country. The when moving through Europe, the next country you move to must share a border with your current country. When you're at the coastline and want to visit a new country across the sea then you have to use one of the official routes posted by Sam.

Thanks for that link! I was just trying to decide if I should add Denmark to my lisk. I found Peter Hoeg on the list of Danish authors. I've been meaning to read Smilla's Sense of Snow for ages.

I'm considering Sigrid Undset to be a Norwegian author. She was born in Denmark, but moved to Norway at the age of 2. She travelled quite a bit as an adult, but used Norway as her home base. She had to flee Norway during WWII because of her outspoken criticism of Hitler before the war.

She was the first woman to win the Nobel Prize in Literature (1928).

You can't claim multiple Series points for books read for the same task. My tally shows that you've already read (and claimed Series points for) another book in this series for Task 10.3. I'm not going to count the Series points for Glory in Death.

That fact flew under my radar. I'm deducting 5 Combo points from my score since I claimed the 10.3 Fall Birthday combo points for a book with multiple authors where only one author had a fall birthday. (My Task 20.3 - Many Bloody Returns)

Hey Elizabeth. I saw that Grace Paley was on the Jewish authors list. I tried tackling one if her books of short stories awhile ago and gave up. Maybe this will be the push I need to try another one of her books. I love it when I can get those Combo points!

Hi Joanna: For the Backpacking challenge, if you are a "Land and Sea" traveller, you should read the books in the order that you laid out the countries on your Itinerary.

You can intersperse RwS tasks between Backpacking countries if you like, but when working through the Backpacking tasks, they must be read in the order you committed to before beginning your journey.

I don't get to read as much as I'd like, but I do have about a 1.5 hour commute each day, so I'm loving my audiobooks!

Hi Karen:

If you want to go through and disqualify the specific points for your earlier books you can. I did approve them originally when I scored them. But I remember I had a question about a couple of them at the time. I'm fine with leaving it as is, or updating it per your instructions. Sometimes this scoring is a bit of an imprecise science with some things harder to figure out than others. :-)

We're trying to be more precise in the task requirements so we encounter fewer of these issues. But some seem to sneak through each challenge.

Hi Coralie: No worries. Sorry if I sounded a bit abrupt in my message. Perhaps that was due to my liberal use of the the BOLD function in that message? :-)

Here ranch usually means land used to raise cattle, sheep, goats etc. with some acreage used to grow feed crops for those animale. The word "farm" means land used primarily for growing food for human consumption or feed crops.

Alright all you MegaFinishers --- I have some good news from Sam regarding how the bonuses are to be awarded.

1) Complete Reading through Time, receive 60 or 100 points based on what type of traveler you were.

2) Complete the 20 non-Reading through Time tasks, receive 100 points (RwS Finish).

3) Complete all 30 tasks, receive an additional 200 points (Mega Finish) bonus.

In other words, when you finish the entire challenge (and take the Constant Traveler path), you end up with 400 bonus points.
