@Sanz, I'm from Chennai."
That's wonderful! I'm in Chennai presently, I keep visiting the city often because of my work. Hope you had a fun Dussera.

@Lisa/Karen... Just like Nicole, I read several books at a time, so it's likely that something I read will align to a goal at some point, which is why I prefer to finish something and see where it fits later. I have to admit that I may have been one of those people during GG, who read something that fit into somebody else's ongoing goal and my book got marked up instead of theirs.

My name is Sanskriti but I prefer being called Sanz (shorter, easier and seems more endearing). I'm from Mumbai, India.
I love reading everything, and I mean that in the absolute sense; I'll read fiction, non-fiction, news and even the backs of cereal boxes with equal gusto. What I enjoy reading the most is history, historical fiction and true adventure stories. I tend to shy away from romance (although Nicholas Sparks is one of my favorites), paranormal and horror (although for Stephen King I will gladly be up all night).
I'm more of a go-with-the-flow kind of girl, so I don't plan my reads. I'm also a mood reader, so I will usually have 3-5 different books going on simultaneously. Some books I take months to read, because I'll switch and not return to them for a while, and some I'll devour in a single sitting.
I'm a marketing professional during the day, and of course some nights when work's crazy, but it's a job I enjoy. The rest of my time is divided between experiments with cooking, photography and blogging.
I've played all team challenges here at NBRC (except maybe the first one) and I absolutely love it. It's always been fun interacting with other players, getting to know them and their choice of books. I average a book a week but during challenges I tend to read a lot faster.

Big wave to Karen. So glad to be playing with you for the third time on a team challenge!
Looking forward to getting to know everyone and having fun!

No Goals as of now..
Pages: 617
First published: April 1999
Genre: Dystopia, Science Fiction, Horror
Setting: Island
Lot of character names starting with Y who are all students, Red Cover, turned into a movie.

Pages: 286
Goals: Read a book first published on the 17th of a month (according to https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...)
One the genre's listed on the book's main page is Childrens, but AR BookFinder has it at 43,681 words, so it should work for this challenge.

I did... it's quite a controversial spin to the tale. I ended up Googling all the time looking up things like "The Last Supper" and "Holy Grail". Turned out to be quite interesting.

Pages: 593
Goals: Read a book that is in the Amazon 2004 bestsellers (#1 on the list)
(Dunno if this is one of our goals or the other team's. I'm at work and access to the spreadsheet is denied on my network, so can't check)

I live in Mumbai. Have you been to India?

I'm from India, a full-time marketing professional who just loves to read pretty much anything under the sun. I love these group challenges because they really push me to explore and read more. I usually average about a book a week but I'm trying hard to up my numbers.
Looking forward to a fun round!

I'm halfway through the book and I'm a tad bit disappointed with it because I don't seem to be enjoying it much. I keep hoping for the story to build up, have more substance, but all it really is up to this moment is a flashback of Scout's childhood. We already saw Scout as a child in her previous book. I was expecting more from Lee in this one.
Although you never know, the second half might be more promising, that's what I'm hoping for.
