We have our first word completely done, and our second more than half done. You ladies rock! (Or Rap)!
I have a "Z" book almost done - but I'll finish it tomorrow so I can count it for Turf Wars (today is the down day). Kari - so glad you knocked off a "Y" book - and that you enjoyed it :)
Lindsay - keep an eye out for important characters (they don't have to be the main character) that fit the letters. But for that book, we can also use the "T" in the title.Great idea to post any books that may need a bit of group effort! We can/should all do that!
Just a friendly reminder to put books on your wheel shelf :) Note: I forget just as often as everyone else.
Thanks Amanda! It's great they work for bonuses AND have so many useful letters. You found a winner of a series! (And a big shout out to that sweet baby that is letting you get cuddles and reading time.)
Ha another note: I do think the shadowing in Redirection and Codirection makes my eyes see grey. And Tineye does think they are grey (but tineye is not good at "white"). BUT when I pull them up on Amazon and zoom in to the white parts, they do look white and not grey to me. But like when I post them below - I'd glance at both and say "that's a white cover". Thus, I fixed that marking I missed. But I swear, I hate color covers - they always make me feel like I should go back to kindergarten. What do you all think?
Kari - so glad you noticed that - I was concentrating on the instruments and just forgot to mark them. It's nice to have many eyes looking - thanks!Oh, and note: we may get more than 5 white covers this round. That's fine - we won't get the extra points for more than 5, but it doesn't hurt to overachieve (and always nice to have backups).
How nice to be outside while you can! And combined with reading - even better :) I LOVE the description of a book as "adult zootopia". love, love, love.
Nanci - I love that goal to visit all of the national parks! They gave me a National Parks book when I retired - I think I'm going to start marking it up with comments.
That sounds so enjoyable Cordelia! I hope you love the book! And Amanda and Kari - way to get us started :)
It can be hard to choose! I mostly look at "what do I feel like" then try to be sure that at least one letter of "Synthesizer" is in it (first letter of title/series, author initials, major character initials, narrator/translator). I hope you find something you love!
It's so hard to remember that rule with the different challenges! But at least after this start time we can just worry about finish dates.
(And I would say as far as cover - to me it looks like the background has both white and gray. It's strange that tin-eye didn't pick up any of the white.)
Books have to be started after the countdown (start of the challenge). BUT, if you started one now and didn't finish it until round 2, we could count it for round 2.Note: I really like Mercy Thompson.
Well the biggest rule is that we have fun with each other. We'll take whatever books people can read, and if there are slow weeks for someone, that's ok too! Life does that.
Yup - Bobbi is right. They went through a time where we couldn't go over a certain number, but that isn't happening now. I agree - it's hard to guess # of books for challenges. If we had a crystal ball and could foresee what life was going to hand to us it'd be a lot easier.
