Hi Annalisa! Thanks for checking in. I'm more of a classic rock person too, but at least rap is a fun genre for us to toy with.

Fall is my favorite time of year too.

5 color books each round and THIS round 10 "instrument in text" books. I think Round 2 that will be something different. The mods are really good at keeping us on our toes.

Here are some Q&A answers. I'm going to keep a running list in my links thread too. I really welcome other ideas/opinions - those are what really make a team great.

1. Do we need to link books on the spreadsheet?
It's fine to just put in the book title & author for the spreadsheet without linking.

2. Do we need to record letters that aren't in our word?
Nope! Although for the author, it's nice to have that entered so we get the correct book. I was being an overachiever when I put in my three planned books, but it'd probably be easier to just have letters in the SS we can actually use - so I'm glad you asked this!

3. Bonus books - do they have to work for the word?
Yes, we'll have to use them somewhere as a letter in the word.

4. Bonus books - for the word list can we use a word more than once?
Yes, so if we use guitar (for example) 10 times, that's no problem.

5. What editions do we use?
We are supposed to use the edition we are reading for page numbers and color covers. That can be a beast if you're on the app so just do your best - we go for the default page numbers a lot because all editions don't have those numbers listed. But be sure if you are reading for a color cover it's the book you actually read/have on your shelf.

Congratulations Amanda on that perfect baby! I thought you did an amazing job in TT - what a real trooper doing everything while so very very pregnant. Congratulations to the baby too, getting such a wonderful mom :)

LaurLa - what a fun and fitting vacation! No worries about checking in too much - since this round goes to the 21st, you can get things checked in by then and we can shuffle, etc. as needed. But thanks so much for the heads up so we know you didn't disappear :)

I have to leave soon to pick up veggies, so I'll answer questions when I get back. Janeylou - they were brilliant because they helped me think more about how to do things. I suspect between all of us, we'll find the best ways of managing this challenge most efficiently.

I was just heading over here after setting up the Rap thread. Man, I'll miss having all of us on the same team, but I'm sure everyone who is playing will have a ton of fun! I know the mods did their best - but it's quite a trick balancing all of the reading counts and teams - and I know the captains of your other teams and they are so fun!

I am very excited to get to play Wheel with all of you! I thought it was funny I got team Rap, and my husband thought it was hilarious, but I also think we can have a lot of fun with it!

As for me - I'm retired, and I'm busier than ever, although it's more fun stuff. I used to teach math at the university here, and currently I work with about 25 kids providing activities a few times a month. I love dogs and have 2, and I like to travel. In fact, we are spending next week in Yellowstone, so I MAY be somewhat quiet, depending on when I can find internet.

It will sure be fun spending the next few months reading together! And big shoutout to my co-captain Nanci, who you will meet soon. She is one of the most cheerful, positive people to be around and I know you will all love her.

Color Red (50% or more) - 5 bonus points each, maximum of 5 books

Round 3 Bonus For this round, find musical instruments on the cover of your books (any instrument, just has to be obviously an instrument)

Each found instrument will earn an additional 5 bonus points. Only one instrument per book cover and a maximum of 10 bonus instruments. You can find the same instrument multiple times (not least because no one's got time to decide if it's a violin or viola etc etc)

Note to players: any changes to the standard bonus rules, similar to what was done for Round 2, will not be determined until after the results of Round 2 and the mods see the point spread between teams. A lot can change from round to round.

I have a weird question - IF there is a captain's group, and IF I'm in it, should I have received an invite? I'm also fine being a non-captain, but I don't want to be a missing person :)

There will be others Kirsten! I didn't do wheel last year - I 100% understand about being over-challenged :)

I think either way works. I just said something like "I'd really love to have my Ashara teammates that are playing". But it MIGHT be easier for them if you just name me.

No pressure either way! If you want to join and not feel pressured, put a low # of books on your signup and plan on reading just that number and not more :). But it's perfectly ok to focus on other challenges - both in Goodreads and in life!
