35559 Good Morning, Team!! The August Challenge has started officially for everybody! Has everybody started reading their books?

I had an impromptu library visit today because I wanted to read more Sandra Brown books. The library branch I went today had this cool initiative: The Mystery Brown Bag

We're not supposed to peek into the bag but I (of course) peeked in two bags to determine they were not mysteries (not into them right now). But I did not peek into the one I finally checked out. The book I got was Obsessed by Susan Andersen . I haven't read any Andresen so I'm hoping this would be a good intro to her.

35559 It's finally August!!

I finished Envy by Sandra Brown today and that kicks off the August Challenge for us. I think I might go on a Sandra Brown Binge (after the NR binge I suppose)

35559 If there was a LT, then it might've been a deal breaker. I'm getting really tired of them (and YA seems to have abundant of them)

I used to think I was stingy before I saw you (and another of my friend) rate. Now I know I'm an "average" rate.

35559 Rebecca, I forgot to ask the most important question - does it have a Love Triangle?

And if you say you've given it 4 stars, it's good enough for me. I usually see you give 2 or 3 stars.

35559 @Rebecca: You're the first person who has unreservedly endorse the series. It's going on my TBR pile :)

35559 Good Morning, Team!! Good to see everyone reading.

I've been in Manga mode myself (and the books don't count for this challenge) but I'm planning to go back to my planned reads from tomorrow. And I got my Magic Rises (Kate Daniels #6) by Ilona Andrews . YAY!! I missed Kate & Curran!!
35559 I'm just onto Chapter 4 - The weekend was a busy one for me. I'll start posting in a while. And I'm not reading any of yours until I'm done.

Basically her setup is always like this (from the grand total of 3 books I've read): A morally ambiguous, dark, asshole-ish hero; completely innocent heroine. I didn't like her Black Ice but Ruthless was good. Best I can describe is a dark, obsessive love. Her writing is such that you can accept the whole package. I read her when I am in the mood for dark, angsty stuff. You could try Ruthless or Nightfall and see if it's your cup of tea (though, I think you'll like it)

35559 I finished Nightfall by Anne Stuart - I was looking for some angsty book and this fit the bill perfectly. Morally ambiguous hero, innocent heroine - typical AS stuff. Loved it!

Working on The Gods of Gotham by Lyndsay Faye now
35559 I'm sorry but I'm really behind. I had another BR on the same date and I couldn't put that book down. I'm starting this one tomorrow. I'll catch up fast.

35559 Good Morning, Team!! 6 more days for the August Challenge and I can't wait. That challenge is taunting me!

While waiting, I finished up Barrayar (Vorkosigan Saga, #7) by Lois McMaster Bujold . This book was just awesome. It's a complete Science Fiction with lots of other contents thrown in. It's even better than it's prequel - Shards of Honour (Vorkosigan Saga, #1) by Lois McMaster Bujold . Another awesome series to keep reading.

Let me also add, I absolutely hate creating challenges because I don't like saying no.

I like creating challenges (if I'm on a creative streak). The only thing I don't like is when people ask these questions. And that is why you're answering it instead of the rest of us :P

35559 Rebecca, how about a "fantasy" version of the same place. Like for example, Deadline is set in a post-apocalyptic version of US (I forgot which part). Will that work?

35559 The book is awesome :) I haven't watched the movie though.
35559 Works for me, Karen.
