35559 Melissa, by the first book you mean Masters at Arms (Rescue Me, #1) by Kallypso Masters ? I confirmed with Countess Paige and it's approved. The word count is 60000 and it's nearly 240 pages. So go ahead and tag it :)

35559 Good Morning, Team! Lots of posts overnight (for me).

@LK - I used to check duplicates but whenever I re-read I add another edition and that means a loooot of duplicates. I've stopped trying to sort it out with the hope that GR adds a re-read feature soon.

I finished up The Hour of Dust and Ashes (Charlie Madigan, #3) by Kelly Gay & Shadows Before the Sun (Charlie Madigan #4) by Kelly Gay . That's one more series I've caught up with. I do hope the author can release the next book soon because there are so many open threads in the book.

Also finished up Hopeless (Hopeless, #1) by Colleen Hoover which was good. Now I know why she's so popular. But the next in series is from the male lead's PoV. Not sure if I want to read the same book again (albeit in different PoV)

35559 Karen, you make sense. Usually when I add the book on the main page, it turns up the default edition. When I mark it as complete, then I change it to the edition I read. The two copy thing happened when I did this. Interesting.

Karen wrote: "The 2 copy thing happens to me all the time because I don't tend to use the "default" edition of the book. So if I'm not careful (usually when on the app!) then I have my edition as "currently read..."

35559 Sarah Morgan's med romance are ok too but lately she's concentrating on Presents which suits me. Whenever I want to read one, I pick hers. Mostly hits than misses.

Superromance basically features common man as opposed to your Greek/Italian zillionaires and supposedly powerful romance. For Sarah Morgan, I'd suggest you try from these three: Within Reach by Sarah Mayberry Suddenly You by Sarah Mayberry All They Need by Sarah Mayberry . You can also try Anything for You (Harlequin Blaze, #278) by Sarah Mayberry (one of her more popular work featuring friends-to-lovers trope) which is a Blaze or her self-published Her Best Worst Mistake by Sarah Mayberry .

Judy wrote: "I checked and I've read 2 of Sarah Morgan's books and liked both of them- I'll have to look for more of hers. I haven't tried the Superromance line- do you have any recommendations?

35559 Leslie, Tangled is purely Contemp-Romance, Adult. It's complete from the male POV which was interesting. I'm sure you'll like it. ETA: This could be your rec for August :P

Leslie wrote: "Hi Vi! That looks like an interesting series. I've never heard of it. And Tangled looked like a fun read. Is it what is being called "New Adult" (I guess as opposed to Young Adult)?

Great job read..."

35559 The two copies thing happened to me but luckily I caught it when I was updating my books for other challenges. That thing is really weird because I don't know what exactly triggers it.

35559 Wow - that does sound bad. The HQN Presents are usually hit or miss too but certain authors like Sandra Morgan write such good books. I found HQN Superromance much better. Have you read one of those?

Judy wrote: "Every HQN Presents plot trope was in this book- rich billionaire, poor struggling actress working as waitress, insta-sex turns to insta-love, birth control malfunction, secret baby etc. - it seems like she had a list of things to cover and just checked them off.

I'm usually hit or miss with the HQN Presents line- this one was definitely a miss.

35559 Hi Leslie! I just finished up two books for other challenges - The Darkest Edge of Dawn (Charlie Madigan, #2) by Kelly Gay - The first book was ok but the second was much better. I'm now sorta invested in the series.

Tangled (Tangled, #1) by Emma Chase - This is the BOM for another group and it's a Romance from the guy's POV. The first 20% I didn't really like the hero, Drew. He was such a a-hole. But the h, Kate stood upto him on every count and the banter between them was very good as well. There were lots of hilarious moments too. And the grovelling part was very well-done.

35559 Oo, have you read her Travis series? Those are really good too.

35559 I finished up Conspiracy in Death (In Death, #8) by J.D. Robb & The Greek's Innocent Virgin (Kouros Brothers Duo #1 & Greek Tycoons #2) by Lucy Monroe . The HQN was so idiotic I was tempted to throw it away. I need to find better ones. Gah!

35559 The premise looked interesting but Sandra Marton usually doesn't work for me. Can I know what happened in those 30 pages?

Judy wrote: "I read 30 pages of The Ruthless Caleb Wilde by Sandra Marton and hated it- I'm not going to finish it.

I'm going to listen to Lucky in Love (Lucky Harbor, #4) by Jill Shalvistonight, and I'll try a new book..."

35559 I'm all prepared too! I have some shorter books lined up.

I'm still halfway through Lion of Ireland by Morgan Llywelyn and also finished up Heartbreaker (Buchanan, #1) by Julie Garwood . The book was ok - the suspense and the romance part was good. And there was more showing for the most part. The major issue I had some was with the writing. It was not smooth - for example, A and B would be having a conversation and then all of a sudden, there'd be a summarized third-person narration of the rest of the conv/happening. It kept pulling me out of the book. A good Romantic-Suspense if the writing doesn't bother.
