35559 I'm reading Six of Crows and Pretty Girls, but I don't plan on writing the questions

35559 I'm in southwest Ohio and it's been slowly turning back to summer here. One night of frost a month ago and it's been back to record highs in the 70s all week.
I am 5 hours behind London. Dubai (where I will be the next two weeks) is 9 hours ahead of here and Singapore (where I will be the first week of December) is 13 hours ahead. I can guarantee no consistent schedule.

35559 Great idea Abbie. I rarely log in from anything but the app on my phone, so getting to and from a spreadsheet can be a pain and data eater.

35559 Yay!
35559 Just got this in the mail today!
35559 1. Eve's relationship with Mia is strained because of Mia's choice to be an art teacher and live a life her family likely thinks is below her. This notion is pushed by James.

2. We haven't gotten to know enough about the detective. I don't think he is more interested in Eve more than Mia though. He can clearly see that he's more likely to have Eve co-operate with an investigation than from James. James will have his career in mind and try to keep as much information private as possible. Eve will think like a mother and talk without regard to her husbands career.
I wonder why Grace has such a chip on her shoulder.

3. I do like reading about after. It's a new way to put together the puzzle.

4. Colin is thinking with his wiener.

5. It's different jumping back and forth. I hate reading from a first person point of view. It lacks an eloquence and is limiting.

6. Psychological.

7. The family seems pretty typical of a family with a political figure. Older sister didn't want to be a lawyer, but did what was expected of her to please the family. Mia chose a different life, but still got the support from the family though they probably threatened to do the exact opposite. Grace resents her for getting the best of both worlds and all the attention.

____

1. Exact reason I'm not a fan of POV/first person writing.

2. Yes, she's totally knocked up.

That's all the further I made it before falling asleep. Oops.

35559 I have a spreadsheet! It's color coded and I have equations for pages to read and how many books I have left to complete my challenge vs. the time left to complete them. I factor in when I won't be able to read because of travel or other plans, so I can maximize if needed. I even programmed buttons to link to my Goodreads team pages to submit point totals. So, I understand the need to keep book related thing organized!
I've been going through my book lists as well and compared them to the goals - yes, in my spreadsheet - and have the books I want to read listed next to several goals they will work for, in case the goals are already taken.

Maybe we just need to claim goals or just let Rebecca take care of it :oP

I will for sure be reading Six of Crows and Pretty Girls next month.
35559 Yay! Favorite. Book. Ever.

35559 I'd get in on the Jane Eyre read. I've read it but it tops the list of my favorites and I'd love to join in on a discussion.

35559 I have a general idea of what I want to read but it all depends on what I am in the mood for. Kindle Unlimited is the biggest reason I get pulled away from the To Be Read list.

35559 The spider picture made me yelp out loud and totally confused the guy sitting across from me in the airport.

General idea behind the existence of parallel universes:

The key to the theory of parallel universes is based on what we assume about the Universe: it’s infinite. If it is infinite and not just really, really big, then within the Universe are an infinite amount of parallel universes.
This idea is based on what scientists know about matter: there are NOT infinite ways in which matter can arrange itself.

So, in an infinite universe with a finite amount of matter arrangements, these arrangements must repeat themselves.

Small scale example: Think of rolling a set of dice. There are only six ways each can land, so if you roll the dice 100 times, you know that you’ll roll the same thing multiple times.
Roll those dice again and again and again, and the same arrangements will appear again and again and again. Roll the dice infinitely and you’ll get those same arrangements an infinite amount of times.
This means that the way matter was put together to create our current existence will happen again - Sometimes with slight changes in those arrangements (Marguerite and Theo jumping to the British dimension) and sometimes with massive changes (Marguerite and Theo jumping to the Russian dimension)

If this makes absolutely no sense, then just ignore me.
35559 1. Only book I've read about multiverse is Quantum Mechanics which was one of the text books required for the Quantum Mechanics class required for my physics minor.
Quantum Mechanics by B.H. Bransden
So if anyone has any questions about the theory or possibility of multiverse/meta-verse/alternate universes, let me know.

2. Theo is as iffy to me as Paul is, but there's something even more fishy going on.

3. Because there are an infinite amount of universes, she could easily jump to one where the world and history as me know it doesn't exist. The only law in this multiverse scenario is that her parents got together and had her.

4. I'd jump to the one in which I chose math education as my field of study, instead of engineering. Just to see how it could all pan out.

35559 I try to prepare and plan for challenge reads, but what I'm in the mood to read will likely be the exact opposite of what I plan. I have a general outline of what I need to read before the end of the year for certain challenges, but if I'm given free reign it will change dozens of times.

35559 365 snakes. I think if I opened my eyes to a tarantula in the middle of the night I'd wet the bed.
35559 The Kindle version of this is $1.99 on Amazon. Great price from a non-romance.
35559 I loved all the random stuff pulled out of the storage crates in Thorne's ship that he had no idea was stashed in there, and it ended up saving the day.
