14. Why s Adam pushing for Paul's files? Maybe Paul had information in the files that needed to be passed along should something happen to him. I don't think it has to do with embezzling, but definite with the videos. Documents don't all have to be in Word or Excel formats to contain writing.
15. Captain Mayhew? Suspicious? Nope, don't like him. He might be on Paul's payroll. Some guys on the inside to keep his secrets safe.
16. Why is Ludia under sureillance ? Obsessing or guilty? I don't think he tracks Lydia for either guilt or obsession. I think he wants information for future black mail or should he need to make them disappear with as little trace as possible.
17. Videos real? Who is the guy in them? The videos are very real. If the guy isn't Paul then it might be Adam or Nolan. Maybe someone we haven't been introduced to yet. But the characters physical descriptions are all very elaborate and I don't think any of the current lot fits the description of the killer.
Sorry for the lack of formatting. Good Reads app is crap.

9. Claire on parole? Maybe she got caught up n something stupid with friends or some kind of scheme that resulted in a plea deal. Car accident that killed someone? Hmm.
10. Yes! It was too convenient.
11. The video means Claire has absolutely no idea who her husband was. There are probably way more skeletons in his closet than his.
12. Understandable? No. Not believing her is like not believing any other women who has claimed sexual assault but not be taken seriously because she was drinking or wearing revealing clothing or was known for being easy.

Intrigued. The story about the dog twisted my stomach and I hope it isn't a preview of coming attractions.
Q2) What is your first impression ? Do you like the alternating view points or do you find them irritating ?
I don't mind alternating points of view. I do like that it's a change from boy/girl POV to sisters.
Q3) What did you make of Paul's behaviour ? Why did he go into the alley ? Something sketchy here. First the dude is late then all handsy which is totally unlike him according to his wife. I think the focus will be more on that than the actual incident.
Q4) What is your impression of Claire and her general attitude ?
Her reaction to the attack and eventual death seems real. But, she could be hiding something. She's very engrossed in him but some relationships are like that. In this case, it seems very unhealthy.
Q5) What do you think of Lydia 's reaction to the news about Paul ?
A lot of hate there. Maybe too much?
Q6) The book's synopsis tells us the connection between Claire and Lydia. Do you think you would have made the connection from these initial introductions ?
Probably. The opening commentary by their father would have been a good indicator of the family connection between characters.
Q7) Do you like any of the characters we have met so far ?
I really like Lydia. She's far more grounded than Claire, but she's had to be. Claire's only real struggle has been the loss of her sister - comfortable life, money - while Lydia seems to have worked har to get to where she is.
