So excited we finally got a monster. Whoo!

So in my mind, we want to complete this before we level up so that any health we lose will be restored when we get to Level 2.

So I'm going to battle this monster and defeat him right now. Here is how it will go down.

We have Attack (A): 14 Health Points (HP): 20
Monster has A: 4 HP: 40

We hit with 14 A, monster HP goes down to (40-14) 26
Monster hits with 4 A, our HP goes down to (20-4) 16
We hit with 14 A, monster HP goes down to (26-14) 12
Monster hits with 4 A, our HP goes down to (16-4) 12
We hit with 14 A, monster is killed (12-14).
Monster is defeated
Final HP: 12
So now we would need to be careful with the next monster as our HP is only at 12 (still max 20) until we either use a health potion or level up, which restores max health.

Does that make sense to everyone?

Have any of you guys done any Escape Room games before? I just did my first one tonight and it was amazing. It was "Escape from Death Row" Now I can't wait to do another one.

Here are some options:

Read a book with mountains on the cover.
Read a book with valley on the cover.
Read a book with forest on the cover.
Read a book set on another continent except North America and Europe.
Read a book first published in 2010.
Read a book first published in 2012.
Read a book first published in 2013.

Also of course any series book is helpful.

Becky was it you who was saying that series is good on audio? I checked my library and they have the series on audio so I might read it that way.

I've started a book that would work for either #2 in a series, or published in 2016.

Great! This one is put into the "series #2" spot for levelling up our weapon to level five.

Once we have a #3 and a #5 complete we can have one more attack power for our weapon. Right now Catherine and Becky have books scheduled for those spots, although if someone happens to finish a book that works, it could be used instead.

Its not a problem at all Catherine. I'm listening to mine and I prefer to take audiobooks slowly if I can. So when I'm close to finishing I'll claim a spot for mine.

Hey Catherine. My book is set in US but I'm not finished yet so you can have that spot. I'll keep an eye out for where else it might fit.

I don't think there's any really WRONG decision either. There are plusses and minuses to all the options that we have. I say go for it!

So if we're fighting a monster and its our turn to attack and we use a heal potion, can we only use one? Or however many we need? This will make a difference I guess as to whether 2 regular Heal potions are better than one Greater Heal potion.

Hmmm, I can see both sides. On the one hand that Greater Heal Potion would be nice. We don't have any books slotted for that one yet though, so there's lots of work to be done for it.

On the other hand, we have a fair number of books for Card 4.

We also do have 3 regular Heal Potions coming to us when we complete Card 5.

I need to look up what the difference in heal potions is...
