We work as a team to level up our weapon by reading series books.

Level One: Book #1 in a series
Level Two: Books #1 and #2 in a series
Level Three: Books #1, #2, and #3 in a series

So to get to level 3 we will have read a total of 6 books, which can be read by 6 different people in 6 different series and finished in any order. As the books get finished, they'll go into the bank and we'll slot them in as they fit. Right now in the bank we have two #1s finished already, so once someone finishes a #2 in a series we will have the first 2 levels done.

We'll need lots of series books read because everytime we want to go up another level we'll start back at #1. So at this point read any series book you want. Once more books start coming in, we'll have holes to fill that we'll post here (for example, we need a #4 in a series or whatever)

Anything you read now will be used for the next game, Emerge the Victor. Its basically like the game has started when it comes to how the books count, we just don't know what our first tasks are yet.

Nope. That's perfect. When the game starts we'll probably ask everyone to look at their books and see if they work for specific tasks, but for now its enough to stick it in the bank.

We don't really have a strategy yet as I think that will develop once we get going, but if anyone wants to try to "work ahead" one surefire way to help the team will be to start reading "series" books. Any # is going to be useful. Once we start playing we will be able to sort them into the spot where we need them. Also those series books may fit specific tasks that we will get in the future.

Please come discuss with us and tell us if you have questions or don't understand. We're still figuring all this stuff out and we want to help you guys figure it out also. Has anyone here played the RPG games this group runs before?

I'm ready for strategy talk but there hasn't been much action here yet today. I'm guessing people are passed out from their crazy night of reading, lol.

I meant to wake up before the deadline and see if anyone needed help with anything but I'm 37 minutes overdue, lol. Oh well looks like you guys managed to pull through.

Vicky, whenever you have time, I think there's a problem on the spreadsheet. Something is wrong on the overall tab with Chloe's stats. I noticed it because it seemed like we had gone down in points.

We could always use our third boon to get rid of the title relay and request a new bonus?

As for strategy, if we can finish a full bonus and people are willing to keep reading, I say go for it. If anyone is feeling like they are just done though, don't worry about pushing yourself. We still have one more game and don't want to burn out. It looks like Labours 52 and 53 are doable, but unless everybody comes in to claim, maybe don't worry about Labour 56. If we can get in one or two more puzzles, etc that would be great but its probably not the best idea to finish anything for the bank. If you can save a couple of chapters for tomorrow morning, it would probably be the best strategy.

Thanks Vicky! I won't be finishing any more books tonight but its nice to know I can start something and not worry about whether it will count.

Finished my last claim Things We Know by Heart which finishes off a bonus, but doesn't get us a replacement because it was our extra bonus.

Just a reminder that there are only about 7 hours left in this portion of the challenge. If any one book doesn't get finished in a bonus, we lose all the points for that bonus. Cora we have you down for Casino Royale, Vicky you're down for A Time For Dying, and Becky has A Skeleton in the Family. How are these books coming along? Will you all have enough time to finish them before the deadline?

@Becky. Glad to hear we're on the same page for banked books. You know its a bit confusing when we agree on the rules but think we don't, lol.

I'm really excited too and looking forward to focusing on series. I have so many in progress right now.

Im sorry to hear that Amy but I think we can all understand that family stuff and real life have to come first. With a challenge this long, things are bound to happen but we appreciate you letting us know.

I agree that its confusing because of the two types of banks. The way I understand it is:

Books finished before Labours ends but not used for Labours are part of the Previous Bank and can only be converted to gold.

Books started anytime but finished after Labours ends can be used for Emerge tasks.

Maybe we'd better confirm what is right before we get too confused.
