If a 500 page book only gives 32 leagues and we have to get to 5000, won't we..."Ok I get this now. If we have someone wanting to read a realllly long book, it is easy, otherwise not worth it.
100 page book: 2 leagues (2)
200 page book: 4 leagues (2x2)
300 page book: 8 leagues (2x2x2)
400 page book: 16 leagues (2x2x2x2)
500 page book: 32 leagues (2x2x2x2x2)
600 page book: 64 leagues (2x2x2x2x2x2)
700 page book: 128 leagues (2x2x2x2x2x2x2)
800 page book: 256 leagues (2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2)
900 page book: 512 leagues (2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2)
1000 page book: 1024 leagues (2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2)
1100 page book: 2048 leagues (2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2)
1200 page book: 4096 leagues (2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2)
1300 page book: 8192 leagues (2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2)
So only worth it if someone wants to read a 1300 page book, or at least a couple people want to read a book over 1000 pages. Maybe not the best use of our time, unless someone already has something scheduled.

Becky? If you want to give it a shot, I'll stick around in case you have questions

Yay, another monster! I'll take it down, unless anyone else wants to give it a try. Shannon, Becky?

K, I'll submit for another new card. Thanks.
I think we probably want to do this one, because the two potion rewards look good, but I can't figure out how it works. If a 500 page book only gives 32 leagues and we have to get to 5000, won't we need like over a hundred books? That doesn't seem right.

Shannon wrote: "Alpha Trine would work Joanne. It was all fantasy stuffs!"That's good! We don't have anything for 2012 right now, but I think we should move that book anyway and get a new card, and leave the 2012 spot open for now.
Becky, I'll move Empire of Storms to the weapons tab for Book 5.

I was just looking at this, to see if anything would fit this or the 2010 one.
The only one I could come up with that might fit for imaginary country would be Bonita's book Redeeming Zorus. It looks like its probably set in an imaginary country but I wasn't sure.
Bonita?
Thanks Shannon, I moved things around.Finished my book The Earl Takes All, #2 in the series.
I'm going to go ahead and discard cards 1, 2 and 5 again since it doesn't look like anyone has claimed anything for them yet. Maybe we'll have some luck in the morning.
Shannon, do your Brac Village books take place in North America? I would like to move Bonita's #7 book to the weapons tab and move a #1 or #2 book to that north america spot since its much easier to find earlier numbers in series to replace.
Nice job on finding the 2010 one. I was just thinking someone might have to do some hunting since it was our last task.Disposing of cards now. Hopefully we'll get another monster and at least one card worth good points. Otherwise we may end up doing an easier one if we run out of spots I guess.
We need a number three in a series to finish off our Weapon Level 5, so we could use this book to do that. Then if Catherine's book An American Spy is set in the US, it could fill the "set in the country where you live" category. Otherwise we'll use it for the next weapon level. How does that sound?
EDIT: I used Chelsea's book to level up our weapon to 15 attack (level 5)
My instinct would be to toss cards 1, 2 and 5 and hope we get some good stuff tomorrow. Those three don't give any potions, and they give minimal gold, so I'm not sure how worth it they are.We are making progress on our other two cards though so hopefully we can get a new one that is good soon. There's always series books to fall back on and read if we run out of spots, as we'll need those for the rest of the game.
What do you guys think?
Just updated today's posts into the spreadsheet and it looks like Cora's book completes a card so I'm going to submit that, and see what we get.
Becky ♡The Bookworm♡ wrote: "So the battle is done in the spreadsheet, correct? Which tab is it on? The one where our cards are assigned?"So the battle is done on the RPG Card tab of the spreadsheet. You pick Card Action: Attack and Target: whichever card the monster is. Then you go to the WOBBLE button (that we used for bingo, WAT, etc and choose RPG - Process Card Action. You hit it once and it goes through one attack from us and one attack from the monster. Then you can keep hitting that button as many times as is needed until either us or the monster is knocked out. You can check our stats after each hit using the RPG tab. Our health points will go down right away.
Becky ♡The Bookworm♡ wrote: "When you battle the monster, specifically when you attack, do we only get to use Attack in increments in which they are awarded through quests? Or do we get to pick the number/power? Will this be self-explanatory on the spreadsheet?"
I'm not sure exactly what you mean. Our attack power is the power of our weapon. So it started at 10 attack and each time we levelled up the weapon (by reading the series books) it went up one attack. So because we completed Levels 1-4, our weapon is 14. So every time we attack a monster, it will be with 14 power until we complete more levels. This is why with the last monster, it started at HP 40 and went down to 26, then 12 then 0 (decreasing by 14 each time we hit). Our health points decrease every time we take a hit by the amount of the opponent's attack power. The Quests, or cards just allow us to gain experience points which allows us to level up our hero. Each time we level up our hero, our max HP goes up by five.
I'm sorry, does this answer your questions? Let me know and I can try to be more clear if need be.
I'm working on a #2 and a #6 so I'll just put my books in those spots on the weapons sheet for Level 6. Of course if anyone happens to finish a 2 or 6 before me, just bump me to Level 7.I'm off to work but will be back in the evening. Have a great day everyone!
