Ok it looks like the mods are saying that as long as our spreadsheets have all the tasks they should for the cards (and it looks like they do now) that we can go ahead and start submitting if we want. I don't know if we're wanting to wait till the evening, and do some sorting for strategy though.

Looks like there are bunch more things to fill in the spreadsheet now. Maybe things are almost fixed?

Sorry, I misunderstood then. I thought your question was asking if we were all-clear to start inputting books for points.

Series reads are to upgrade our weapon. Its currently at 10 attack. Each level we complete will give us one more attack power. If you look on the RPG sheet and scroll down, you'll see the area where we will input the series books. So right now we're at Level 0. To get to level 1, we'll have to read one book #1 in a series. Then to get to level 2: we'll read book #1 and book #2. etc

Oh! I didn't realize that NORTH EAST WEST could be in the text also! Well that will be easy then. I was thinking title only.

Becky, no one has given the all-clear so maybe hold off on inputting anything for now. It looks like stuff started disappearing when teams started entering info earlier.

The posts here don't list the tasks, so take a look in the spreadsheet to see what books we are looking for and if any of your banked books work.

There's some spreadsheet stuff going on so we can't submit any books yet. So just keep reading and we'll enter stuff once we get the go-ahead.

Just keep reading. We'll get it sorted eventually. :p

Do we have any Canadians left on the team? I think we may have lost all or most of them but if anyone besides me is left, Happy Thanksgiving weekend to you. Im heading out to a dinner right now so when I come back online tonight I will be stuffed full of turkey!

I know how you feel. I've been reading so specifically lately that being told I can read any series book is almost debilitating. Like how can I choose??? LOL I'm going to be so lost when this is over and no one is telling me what to read.

Yes definitely. I'm currently reading a #10 and hoping we make it that far eventually.

The first ones we need based on what we have so far is:

We can certainly use a 5, but we don't need it yet. We can't go up to
Level Five: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5

until we've completed

Health

◈ Your hero starts with 20 HP
◈ Your hero gains 5 HP every level

◈ Levels are gained by getting XP from quests or monsters.
◈ When a hero levels to the next level, their HP are healed to their new max health.

Weapon

◈ Your hero has a weapon.
◈ The weapon starts with 10 Attack.
◈ The weapon levels up 1 attack each level.
◈ Levels are gained by reading progressively longer "series" of books.
Example:
Level 1: #1 in Series book (11 Attack)
Level 2: #1 and #2 in Series book (12 Attack)
Level 3: #1 and #2 and #3 in Series book (13 Attack)

The other thing is that levelling up our weapon is just one part of playing the game. The other part is levelling up our hero so that we increase our HP (health points).

If anyone plays any kind of virtual games, you know that there are always "levels" and you acheive the next one by gaining experience points (XP). So for this game we start at level one, which gives us 20HP. To get to the next level (level 2) we need to gain 10 XP. We will do this using the cards that are drawn for our team on Monday, when the game starts.

These cards will have either Quests, which we have to complete (similar to Labours tasks I believe) or Monsters to fight. If we successfully complete the card we will get XP or other rewards. Fighting monsters will be where having a strong weapon and a high HP come in handy.

Here's an example that one of the mods wrote out:

Let's say your hero is base level on everything - so hero level is 1 which gives you 20 hp (health points) and your weapon is level 0 with 10 attack
and one of your cards is monster butterfly which has 9 hp and 13 attack which when dead gives you 4 points, 1 gold and wing.
So battle would look like this:
Hero: level 1, 20hp, weapon level 0 10A
Butterfly: 9hp 13 attack
- hero attacks - 9hp-10A - butterfly dead
- you get all that from butterfly without hurting your self

Now let's say, hero same levels, but next monster Wasp is little tougher (15hp, 18A) and gives you 6 points, heal potion and sting
Battle:
Hero - 20hp, 10A
Wasp - 15hp, 18A
- hero attacks - 15hp-10A - wasp has 5hp left
- wasp attacks - 20hp-18A - hero has 2hp left
- hero attacks - 5hp-10A - wasp is dead

You again get all those goodies, but now your health is low and now even butterfly could kill you. If your weapon was level 5, you'd kill that wasp in one hit.
