Too bad about Apothecary Rose not being free for you. If you like historicals, especially mysteries, it's really good. Owen Archer and Lucy are both fascinating.

Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare
Magic Shifts by Ilona Andrews
The Under Dog and Other Stories by Agatha Christie
Lion in the Valley: An Amelia Peabody Novel of Suspense by Elizabeth Peters

I agree. Why wait?

Thought so, but when I looked back I couldn't find it. That's fine, then. :)

Every book counts for points! And you never know what goal might pop up later. :)

I thought someone had claimed the socialite goal? I've finished The End of the Rainbow by Betty Neels. Elizabeth is definitely a socialite by that definition, or any other. She's a rich, well-known woman who entertains a lot, always shows up at parties and balls, and tries to steal the heroine's husband. lol
I also finished Rocky Mountain Dreams and A Broken Kind of Beautiful.

"And as for my cheese and asparagus quiche, which I entered in the cookery section, it was dismissed out of hand as it was baked in a fluted dish." pg 115

So the page count on Amazon or some other site might be different than on GR, because "sneak peeks" and excerpts of other books aren't counted here but they are on Amazon. In general GR librarians try to use the actual book or the page numbers from WorldCat instead of Amazon. And they never use the e-book page count. If someone changes the page count they may find it changed back. (Not by me, just it could happen and now you know why.)
You can read more about it here if you're interested: https://www.goodreads.com/help/show/2...
So for this challenge the mods may need to decide which page count they want to refer to. Many challenges say if you read an e-book or listen to an audio then the most popular mmp, pb or hb will be used for page count instead. But that's up to the mods.
Off to finish my book with "asparagus" in the text... :)
