35559 Toward Zero was narrated by Hugh Fraser, and I've already finished it!

ETA - Sorry, I got all excited there. Congrats on finishing your book, Lucy. Glad you enjoyed it. I love a book that has some humor in it. :)

The link for the audio version is: Towards Zero.

Congrats on finishing, Sarah!

That's fine. Whatever works for the group.

I didn't expect to finish it so soon but that thunderstorm kept me up and reading. It had to be with my Kindlefire because the electricity kept going out. In times like that I love having a back-lit reader. Though I have also read by candle light. :)

Just One Damned Thing After Another (The Chronicles of St. Mary's Series) by Jodi Taylor

I live in hope that it will work for a future goal! Sadly it does not have asparagus in it."

Congrats on finishing your book! Did you like it? Maybe it doesn't have asparagus, but it does have a teacup on the cover. That pops up a lot in challenges, I think. :)

-either you list both books individually / separately on your read shelf instead of the two-book-combo, and we'll add each book separately onto the spreadsheet as well with the appropriate page number
- or you keep the combo on your shelf and we'll also add the two-book-combo onto the spreadsheet and just take the sum of the page numbers for book 1 and book 2

OK, let's list them separately. I'll want to track them separately so they show up as read when I look at the series as a whole. So I've added Towards Zero to my challenge shelf as done.

Also, last night we had a terrific thunderstorm - lasted til almost 4 AM. It kept me awake so I finished Overture to Death by Ngaio Marsh. She was born in New Zealand, for that goal.

Will read some more "asparagus" later today. :)

Glad to hear things are OK with you. I bet we can all understand a busy work schedule. :)

35559 Mods - I'm listening to Towards Zero / Ordeal by Innocence. It's an audio edition of two Agatha Christie books in one, but there isn't a print edition of these two books combined. I assume when I finish it you can enter them as two separate books. But I thought I'd give you a heads up in case you need to figure out how to handle them.

I finished Romancing the Schoolteacher by Mary Davis last night. It doesn't work for any particular goal.

35559 I just got a "Y" author book downloaded, before I knew the goals had changed. But it's non-fiction, so I might be kind of slow reading it. At least we know we have several going, whoever finishes first.

Also, I'm listening to a Ngaio Marsh mystery. Marsh was born in New Zealand, if we still need it in a few days when I've finished it.

I always have a bunch of books going at the same time. :) I'll spend some more time reading "aparagus" this evening.

I'm almost finished with The Perks of Being a Wallflower and plan to start a book that has been a NBRC BOM."

Glad you found the answer to your question. Sometimes it's hard to find just what you're wondering about, isn't it?

Congrats on finishing a book already!

ETA - I've started the asparagus book. lol

I do the same thing. I don't expect every book to be a classic, but if it's really good in its genre I think it deserves a high rating.

And it doesn't matter what I thought of the author's other books. Though I confess sometimes I expect a great book from a really good author and it's hard not to be extra disappointed if the book doesn't measure up, even if it's OK in general.

Hurray! It's great that your book clocked in at 501, instead of 499, isn't it. :) And you gave it 5 stars, too. I'll have to check it out, I like Nora Roberts.

35559 I found "asparagus" in Changes at Fairacre, an old British book I'll be happy to reread. But I haven't started it yet, so if someone else finds it first...

35559 Finished Ripper: A Novel by Allende, a SA author. It's also 512 pages.

I will now be returning to my regularly scheduled life, so I don't expect to get quite as much reading done from here on out. lol

35559 I don't understand why the Master Spreadsheet already has wins and losses on it. I thought we read for 2 weeks and then our scores were compiled and wins/losses tabulated. Does anyone know what's going on with that?
