35559 Milon bonuses stack across events? Cool!

I found The Man in the Brown Suit as well, which looks like it would go into an "A" slot (at least in Milon, other characters might provide more letters).

Also Brown-Eyed Girl by Kleypas which also looks like an A.

If anyone has a book with an "L" character in the synapsis we could use a Milon to used "Lily" for the Y. Or we could find a "Y" character directly.

Let's not submit until we have the Milon as well -- it's really close. Than we can choose whether to respin.

35559 Oh, here are the Milon possibilities -- I forget how many we have, but we should use them ALL!

A) 1 free book from travel agent
B) Lower bonus level by 1 (request from mod)
C) Request re-spin (request from mod)
D) Use a different language title than read for the letter
E) Use last letter of word instead of first
F) Change color of one color task
G) Change task of one color task
H) Use a different cover than the edition read
I) Use a text color in the place of an item on cover
J) Use an item on cover in place of color in title
K) Replace 1 letter with one of your choice
L) Use a book twice in the same word
M) Use a book a different team has read
N) Use a book of less than 100 pages
O) Get all new Color bonuses (request from mod)
P) Spin for a new word without completing the color bonus (request from mod)
Q) Use an author's middle name/initial

Wait -- you can't use a book twice in the same word? I guess we already used that one... Or does it mean the same book read by the same person, used twice. That would be sweet!

And we could use E to put Lily from in the Y spot for our Milon round.

And using J would give us an easy way to get BROWN in. I haven't checked, but I bet we can find something brown there for a SUPER BONUS.

Does using these change it only for one submission, or until we spin again? Like does changing the color of a task change it for everything, or only for that one submission?

35559 Ooh, I had forgotten the synapsis requirement. That makes it harder. Although easier for me to check other people's books, I guess.

I'm supposed to be doing a presentation for my PTA tomorrow, and I DON'T WANNA so I'm going to go poke around on our spreadsheet.

35559 Jennifer, was there a Y character in Court of Mist and Fury? I read the first one but I'm terrible at names.

And you weren't reading slow -- I just got a bee in my bonnet about respinning at the last second so we rushed things.

35559 Can you move things, Plethora? If I try to move more than one line at a time my chance of doing something disastrous increases dramatically.

We don't have a Y character yet. I've been grabbing from banked books, and I put the character names in parenthesis if they are available to steal from our first attempt.

35559 Good eye, Plethora. OK, we've got a fill.

It's not perfect, but it's there. Shall we try to make it a Milon fill, just to show off?

35559 I went and moved all the read books from the unsubmitted ATHLETES into the first Harpy Eagles which filled in everything but the Y, but I didn't take into account any of the color challenges.

So feel free to swap anything out. Also, we might be able to do this twice -- HARPY EAGLES is probably the best team word we could get, and I feel extra fuzzy because aren't they the team we partnered with for the buddy reads?

If you see a book that uses a character for the letter and you have one that uses the title, you can move the character to the MILON and put yours in the base one. And of course if your book does a color challenge, push yours in.

The one that says "Cover is Gray" -- that's 50%, right?

35559 WE GOT THE BONUS! LET'S DO THIS, TAPIRS!

Ahem. I may be a little over-excited here.

35559 I just read Carmen's book Uncovering, which is by Edwards and finishes our Shortie Milon.

Paula, I grabbed the epub version of the Oz book from gutenberg and it's like 250 pages! It must have a zillion illustrations or something. I should look at the other files...

35559 Has anyone found a shortie with an E? I've looked for a copy of Paula's book but I can't find her edition so they've all had too many pages. Were there any E characters in the Milan novellas? I'll read those!

Hey, Uncovering doesn't look too long -- I'm going off to read that, and if Paula beats me back we'll have mine as a banked book ready as we spin. Remember, we can try twice for the bonus because on Milon special is a respin. Finger's crossed!

And if we don't get the 100 point bonus, that character Milon looks promising :-)

35559 I have to say that the purple clouds for our color challenge on Shortie Milon are our weakest entry for the bonus so far. I mean, they are sorta purple? So it might be nice to have that extra ATHLETES 8 in case we get pushback.

35559 We are less than 200 pages from a respin! I'm going out on errands, so you guys decide if we want to submit ATHLETES 8 (stealing an "A" from 6) or save those books for our new word, which will be really long and involve an animal! (fingers crossed)

35559 Maybe we shouldn't submit the non-Milon ATHLETES even if we can scramble one more together so we have books to use as Bank for the new word, because we'll have less than two days. And I'm stuck in a conference most of the day Thursday and it will be hard to get much reading done.

35559 Well, the hope is to somehow pour them all into our new word, which will hopefully be long and complicated and an extra 100 points :-)

35559 Really the only reason to respin is to go for the 100 point bonus. And we only have a 1 in 4 chance of getting it, although we could use a Milon bonus to spin again immediately to have another bite at the cherry. Depends what the group wants to do.

I finished Time Machine for our shortie "T".

If we switch the "A" words from 6 and 8 we have another ATHLETES ready.

35559 I think we've managed to find color challenges for shortie Milon -- Erin's book had purple clouds on it.

Town in a Cinnamon Toast isn't showing up as wobble? It's wobble on my home page. Oh, the date completed wasn't checked. Oops.

35559 Sheila, you can submit a word when you books to fill it, but you can only RESPIN if you have the color challenges done. I don't think we have the color challenges for the shortie MILON, and I really want to respin so we can try for the 100 point bonus word.

Unless we can scrabble together the color challenges for shortie Milon? I didn't notice "orange" in my books, and they don't have purple. Wait, Time Travelor has "orange". Anyone got purple stuff on their covers?

Even better, Carmen's book had orange in it :-)
