I couldn't even do Inferno Devices after the last Mortal Instruments. Sneaking off to have sex while on a serious mission to the depths of hell scene and that unrelated incest but not incest, but incest, plot no one likes to dwell on broke me. I don't think I realized I had so many opinions about sex scenes until this discussion....lol.

35559 Where are we on book count? I could potentially finish another short one, but if we are over, I can wait until later to finish

ugh. speaking of book series I couldn't stand....anybody read the Mortal Instruments/Shadowhunter series? By the last one my co-worker and I were reading them and placing post it notes to each other with biting commentary, and yes, I know this means I read 6 books I didn't like. Nerd problems

I would say ditch the series before the end (the last book may have sex scene that made me literally roll on the floor laughing at the attempt and the plotting wasn't much better), but I will say the Bill part......matters way less after a few books and the early middle ones are a ton of fun....... She has a very different life course than in the show without wanting to spoil things too much.

35559 I've been so slammed at work this week, I haven't had a spare brain cell to read. I think I'm locking myself in my house saturday and having a read in

35559 I really like doing Deweys Readathon, but every time it makes me less active at reading for like two weeks following it. Does anyone else have that after a reading binge?

35559 I just read The Castle on Sunset Life, Death, Love, Art, and Scandal at Hollywood's Chateau Marmont by Shawn Levy which sadly has no color cover and no animals that I can find. I'll have to search through the tags and see if I can spare it from "anything goes"

35559 I enjoyed that rant. I don't think it's very unpopular, I just think it's not generally as fast to read or something that fits into challenges, so it kinda gets read on the side. It's only challenging when everything you read needs to get counted. lol

35559 It's really hard to figure out where to stick non-fiction in this challenge.

35559 So with the weekly limit, the only week that might be an issue is Deweys Readathon. Is anyone else doing it this year?

35559 These top shelf genres are surprisingly hard to have, especially guilty pleasure. I'm not sure how many book nerds really feel guilty about reading romance books. lol

35559 I don't know why but reviews of books people hated always make me laugh. Booknerds just get so offended (myself totally included) when a book doesn't go their way.

35559 Hi everybody :)

I'm Rose checking in from Nashville, TN. I think this might be the second time I've played on a mixed US-Aussie team for tower. I've played since 5 (that may be a totally wrong guess). I don't have a genre I don't read, except for self help. Right now plan is to tackle all my large tomes on the TBR I can never justify in other challenges. lol
