Awesome! Can you check that The Hate You Give and Winter Garden are on your tower shelf?
35559 DQs Day 5 - The Game - end

21. Even though Nora loved her life with Ash and Molly she still returned to the library. Were you surprised that she didn’t stay? Did you want her to stay in that life?
-I wasn't surprised because I expected her last regret was going to be the suicide attempt.

22. When Nora reconnects with her brother Joe she finds out that the reason he had been avoiding her was nothing to do with her decision not to continue with the band. I think that Nora’s experiences in her other lives helped her to accept that this was the truth. Her old self was so wrapped up in thoughts that she was responsible for other people’s happiness I feel she may have thought he was just trying to be kind due to her suicide attempt. What are your thoughts?
-I think she hadn't really taken the time to get to know the people in her life, because she was so inwardly focused. I think normally when fighting with a sibling you'd probably go "what the heck??!!" as a first step instead of assuming it was something months ago.

23. Were you happy with the ending? Where would you like Nora’s story to go next?
- I thought the ending was pretty well foreshadowed and was the only one I'd expect. I assume she's going to go hunt down Ash.

24. Nora got to experience so many lives and possibilities - different careers, different relationships and the chance to live in places all over the world. If you were able to experience another life what would you want to experience?
-Studying another topic in School

25. Did you enjoy the book? Was there anything in the story that resonated with your own life? Is there a message you will take away with you?
-I did enjoy it. I think keeping in mind that regrets usually give you a warped perspective of the past is going to stick with me.

Bonus: While reading the story certain parts reminded me of films and TV shows I’ve enjoyed. Films like ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ and ‘Sliding Doors’ or tv shows like ‘Sliders’ and ‘Quantum Leap’. Are there any films, shows or books that you were reminded of?
-Life After Life, for sure. I know she wasn't allowed to die, but I kept on expecting it after reading that book. lol
35559 Day 2

6. Were you surprised that Nora's second choice was related to her cat? What did you think of the outcome?
-No, the cat was pretty much her major last regret. I thought it was a bit of a cop-out to have it have a heart condition. Didn't teach a whole lot.

7. How did the reality of Nora's Australia line up with what you imagined it would be like?
-I couldn't figure out what she would have done long term in Australia, especially with her only friend on a boat, so I wasn't surprised it was that different.

8. What did you think about the similarities between Nora's life in Australia versus her original life?
-Not surprised. She seems to lack her own goals and that would translate.

9. On the surface, Nora's life with a swimming career seems to be the most successful so far. Do you think the positives will outweigh the negatives this time around?
-No, I thought that that it was unlikely that swimming would be good for her since she didn't really regret giving it up for herself

10. Any predictions for how Nora's speech will go in the next chapter?
-I read further, but it was as messy as predicted. lol
35559 Day 1

1. Were you planning to read this book before it became a BOM? If so, what drew you to it?
- Yes, it got so popular and it has library in the title (easy sell)

2. What do you think of Matt Haig’s writing style (and those short chapters!) and how he has set the story up so far?
-I liked the style, it was very easy to read and effective. The story set up was engaging.

3. What are your thoughts on Nora? Are you attached to her yet?
Not really in the beginning, she didn't have much personality outside the terrible events cycle

4. If you were somehow able to, would you want to see all of the different outcomes that could have played out in your own life? Or would you rather just leave things as they are without ever knowing?
-Depends on if I'd get a chance to change anything that went of the rails, but probably not.

5. What did you think about Nora’s first glimpse at a road not taken? Were you surprised by which book she chose to open first or by how quickly it disappointed her?
-No, I feel like it was really foreshadowed what her first picks would be.

35559 Good News!

We've completed our first "book" of tasks!!!!

Eric (Discworld, #9; Rincewind #4) by Terry Pratchett

Discworld's only demonology hacker, Eric, is about to make life very difficult for the rest of Ankh-Morpork's denizens. This would-be Faust is very bad...at his work, that is. All he wants is to fulfill three little wishes:to live forever, to be master of the universe, and to have a stylin' hot babe.

AND...we have several that are close to completed with our last task hunting exercise. Completing all books within sub-series gives us hella bonus points :)
