Cat writes steamy, upbeat historical romances. They usually take place in the Regency, generally have at least one LGBTQ+ main character, and always have happy endings.

Before writing, Cat was a lawyer and a teacher. She enjoys crossword puzzles, geeking out over birds, gardening badly, and–of course–reading. In high school, her parents went away for a week, and instead of throwing raucous parties, Cat read Middlemarch. Even worse, Cat remembers little of a trip through Europe because she was busy reading Mansfield Park. Her proudest moment was when she realized her kids were shaping up to be hopeless bookworms too. Currently, her favorite genres are romance, mystery and fantasy.

They're together, and I meant for them to have been together since before the beginning of Soldier's Scoundrel :) :) :)(less)

The Ruin of a Rake is coming out in July and it's the story of Lord Courtenay and Julian Medlock (Standish's brother), both of whom you meet in The Lawrence Browne Affair. It ought to have a cover and back cover copy within the next week or two. It's a full length novel and is part of the Soldier's Scoundrel/Lawrence Browne series. I probably ought to put this information on my website, so thanks for the reminder :) :) :)

This book is super funny, which is always a nice surprise in an erotic romance. It's M/F/M (or M/M/F?? all three of them are into one another). The first half of the book is character development, sweet and well-paced, and the second half is boning. ...more

I loved this book. A musician with a support network learns to develop confidence; another musician with plenty of confidence acquires a support network. They're both fundamentally decent, kind, supportive of one another. It's steamy as hell. That al ...more

This a charming and low-angst romance that treats its characters gently. There's a kitten and an amusing mystery subplot. Also, one of the characters is explicitly bi, and it's handled well. There's a "let's pass the flask back and forth while we wat ...more

Serviceable, enjoyable cozy mystery. No complaints. The narrator's voice was more engaging than the actual mystery, but this is not necessarily a bad thing.

More of Cat's books…
“Honor was a luxury item, like hair pomade and snuff. Its only purpose was to show the world that you could afford to be impractical, that you had enough money to behave in a way that was compatible with some ludicrous code instead of acting out of self-preservation like the rest of humanity.”
Cat Sebastian, The Soldier's Scoundrel

“That was how it was when your soul was in pieces and somebody else had one of them. Only when you were together would the pieces fit into place and become whole.”
Cat Sebastian, The Ruin of a Rake

“Nobody had been more surprised than Jack to discover that when he was happy, he wanted to make others happy. What a soggy lot of rubbish, but there you had it.”
Cat Sebastian, The Soldier's Scoundrel
