It's so quiet! I hope everyone is having a great week and reading some good books!

Finished! I've loved all LK's books, but I think this is one of my favorite. There was a lot of excitement and intrigue and there was (view spoiler)[so much more to Ethan than working for Jenkyns - what with his patents and stock investments and everything. I also loved how he started to come to terms with being a Ravenel. (hide spoiler)]

I'm really looking forward to West's book!

June 15th is great!

I'm on Chapter 57 and the Count is (view spoiler)[setting up Major Cavalcante with his son. I am so curious as to where this is going and what the purpose of this is? (hide spoiler)]

There are so many mentions on how pale the Count is. Could it be (view spoiler)[ from drug use? There are mentions of him using hashish to fall asleep (I don't think that would do this) but also his potions and his discussion with Madam Villefort on poisons. (hide spoiler)]

Hi Newts! How was everyone's weekend? I know Danielle was busy playing Quidditch all weekend - how about the rest of you?

This was a great start to the book. I've enjoyed Garrett in the other books she made appearances in and I'm intrigued by Ethan Ransome. Did anyone catch a comment made by Gabriel St Vincent in Devil in Spring:

Sounds good - I've got a few others lined up first, but I do want tol read another maybe towards the end of June or in July

I'm done. So, the book was okay for me. Like I said earlier, I had higher expectations. I thought the (view spoiler)[drug problems in the town kinda make Jess look like Gomer Pyle in not being able to figure anything out. I mean there are less than 900 people that live there. (hide spoiler)]

I did like the epilogue and I'm glad (view spoiler)[Maisy kept her baby and found some peace and a new career. I'm also glad Milo is okay and found love. As for Lissy, I don't care about her but I would like to know more about Silas. (hide spoiler)]

I'll probably read another book in the series as there are parts I liked, hoping that the stuff I didn't like is just a new author learning her way. I giving this 3 stars.
